Assuming the White Sox are getting Vazquez for $8.5 million and $9.5 million the next two season and not for a combined $24 million, where do we stand right now?
It really looks good for this season, because we are essentially getting rid of at least $6 million between El Duque and Vizcaino. I think El Duque could actually make upwards of $6.5 million if he were to meet all of his incentives, albeit unlikely.
That means Vazquez essentially is a very cheap and affordable option for next year, and a reasonable one the next, based on this market.
Obviously, we have to sign Contreras and then use JG and another player to get either Tejada or a stud CF.
