Hi all. I know we have another thread with questions, but this is what I received from an email I sent to seatsale@whitesox.com:

The U.S. Cellular Field Seats cost $450 per pair (seats are only sold in pairs). You can purchase seats only through Ticketmaster. If you are a full season ticket holder you will receive an email today with an exclusive offer to purchase the seats. The seats will go on sale to the general public this Thursday.

Wow, I can't believe they're going to cost that much. I wonder where the money goes.

Yeah, I MIGHT have paide around $200-250 for a pair, but $450 is kind of outrageous. I wonder if that includes shipping, and if you can get them cheaper if you want to pick them up (if you even can).

I think they probably raised the prices because they just won the WS, and I think they are including shipping in the prices through ticketmaster because they are expecting to sell most of them to people all over the country, not just in Chicago.

Lame if you ask me.

I bought one of those in pretty much the same condition for $25 when they first tore down old Comiskey. They had a pile of them out in the lot and people could go pick a seat and pay the $25 that went to White Sox charities. I wouldn't part with that seat for any amount of cash.
If anything, I would pay $450 for two more of those before paying that much for the blue seats. The blue seats don't mean as much to me as the ones from old Comiskey. I'd be willing to spend $50-$100, but that is about all.

Bit too blue for my blood...

Agreed.

When the blue seats were being after the 2002? renovations (upper deck row removal), I think each seat was being sold for $40.

The Dodger are replacing their seats and only charging $250 for two seats.

Also people can pick the seats up at the stadium for free or have it shipped for $100.

So even with shipping the Dodgers are $100 cheaper than the White Sox. And this is the second time the Dodgers have sold seats.

Yeah, I got info requested back today, I actually liked the blue seats and was interested in this, but 450 is too rich for my blood. Plus that will be jacked up if the only way to get it is for them to ship them to you. Got some other things and people to use that kind of money for anyways that would take priority over this

I would've loved to get a pair of these seats, but they don't seem to be worth $450. I could think of better things to do with that money. You'd think we'd be able to sell the seats for less than the Dodgers, but I'm guessing that they're trying to cash in as much as possible off these seats. I'd try for the Old Comiskey ones before these blue ones, unless I could get the seats that we had as season tickets. Those have some sentimental value for me.

Nope. 20,000 X $450 = $9,000,000

I would be interested only if I could buy the actual seats I had this year in my ticket package. That could be a cool keepsake.

I should've clarified in my post that I was including the $450 as a pair. :D:
Or maybe 225 each.

It would technically be a little less than that since there are not 40,000 actual seats available for sale. Once the Scout Seats and bleachers are removed from the total, we're probably talking about 38,500 or so.

Unless they sell all the "spare" seats.

I will go out on a limb and say that they over-valued these seats and not many will sell at this price. I would bet that later on they will be selling them much cheaper with the proceeds going to charity.

we bought 2 seats from Busch Stadium.....and they were about $500 (including mandatory shipping) but the whole park has been torn down (as you well know) and it was just a piece I had to have.....

as for the blue seats? I am pretty shocked that they are so pricey......

those old Comiskey seats are where it's at!

Wow, I can't believe they're going to cost that much. I wonder where the money goes.

I wonder if we hadn't just won the World Series. Probably half that price? I'd bet even less. Man, cancel that idea. If it were an Old Comiskey seat I might swing it, but that's too much for a blue plastic one. I never liked the damn things anyway, actually I'd rather forget them! The only thing that eats at me though is with that WS, they do hold some historic value. Those seats saw the Konerko grand slam, those seats saw Podsednik's walkoff. :dunno::D:

I got a couple last spring when they replaced the scout seating area for the $40 and would like to get a mount to put them up on. Anyone have any info on if you can just order the mounts and not the whole $450 package?

And yes $450 is WAYYY to much for those seats. Most people thought I was nuts for spending $40 on them.

They will never sell at that price if they had set the price at 200 they would have moved all 40,000

For a Chicago sports fan this would seem to be a much better buy at $399

I agree, I would much rather have those for $400. The blue seats are nice, but they don't have the nostalgia that the old Comiskey and Chicago Stadium seats have. I may have sat in those red seats in the 70's to see Stan Makita.

Even if they don't sell them all now, I'm sure they'll just keep selling them at garage sales and Soxfest, and they will sell them all, even if it takes a few years.

I could never top the seat I have from old comisky. Seat number 1. End seat with the fancy metal work on the side.

We were picking up the seats at a warehouse by Comisky. Everybody that went to pick up their seats kept asking the guy handing them out for an end seat. He kept telling them that this is the seat they are getting and handed them an inside seat. My girlfriend at the time, my wife now, handed the guy the piece of paper indicating how many seats I bought. He goes up to her and asks if she wanted an end seat. This was in front of everyone that kept asking for an end seat and not getting one. She said yes and he handed her the seat. You should have seen the looks and complaints we heard. It was so funny. I guess it pays not to be greedy
