To see the Sox make a trade for that can fill one of our needs.

My choice would be Chone Figgins

What needs?

I mean every position on the Sox could be upgraded by someone, but we have a really solid team all-around.

I can think of 20 million reasons why not. Unless JR can swing one of those contracts paid over like 20 years like he has history of wanting to do. If I could pick any guy hands down its Bobby Abreu. Only 31 years old, which if Paulie is good enough for 5 years and he is 30 how old is 31?

I looked at my post via the fantasy road...if there was endless cash, etc. I wouldn't go and get him....waaaay too much bank.

Albert Pujols. He fills our need of, uh, not having the best player in baseball? Uh yeah, that's it.

Probably could have been here if they would have sent the Braves Maggs, but that probably would have prevented the Carlos/Podsednik trade, thus probably preventing the World Series, so maybe it was good they didn't pull the trigger on this one.

I would love to see Joey Gathright from TB. He wont cost tons of money and is probally one of the fastest guys in the leauge.

I've always liked Rob Mackowiak from Pittsburgh. I think he would be a great fit for the Sox. He's a good guy off the bench and he produces when he gets an occasional start at pretty much any position.

As a Crede backup/servicable outfielder/every now and then catcher, I would like Brandon Inge. He's young, cheap, he plays hard, and plays a lot of positions, and plays a solid third.

Not exactly an ideal everyday player, but he's a versatile bench player who hits lefties decently and plays the game right.

I would LOVE to see Carl Crawford in a White Sox uniform. High BA, a little power, and good speed. Oh man...could you imagine Pods then Crawford setting the table for Konerko, Thome, and Dye? :D:

Whoa. You said this about an hour before the Rob Mackowiak thread started. Either everyone was slow on creating a Rob Mackowiak thread or that was just some amazing prognostication on your part.

Andy Pettite. The rotation cannot be defeated with him. Even if we have a full house of Aces and Kings.
Miguel Tejada. MVP caliber bat and great fielder.
Somewhat off-topic, I hope I'm the only one who was incredibly confused about fightin' Phil's baffling non-use of Pettite. Garner removed him after 6 very strong innings and the pen got rocked the next inning, he's not used at all in a 14 inning game that resulted in Marte over Astacio. He's not used at all when they had their backs to the wall in game 4. Strange.
:dumbass:
I just wanted to get that out. We clearly were the better team and the 4 game sweep says so.

Roberto Clemente in his prime.

Seriously, Miguel Cabrera. He's a great player and he's cheap. We can nickname him "Hammer." M.C. Hammer! You can't touch this!:bandance:

I don't see the big deal. Mackowiak has been mentioned for weeks around here, months if you count the trade deadline. He just happened to pick the right day.

I love Uribe and him diving into the stands to catch that pop fly in game 4 is one of the greatest World Series plays in history. With that said, would anyone want Miguel Tejada? I know there's money issues and such but since this does seem to be a fantasy league question, why or why not Tejada?

Tejada would definitely look nice in a White Sox uni. He recently asked to be traded but I'm sure the Sox are already stretched with payroll. He makes about 12 mil. Baltimore needs pitching and a replacement shortstop. Juan, Duque, and probably a prospect for Miguel. That would only be an increase of about 4 million per year in salary. Sure would fit in perfectly.

Oh yea no doubt... why not just pick up Navarro, he'll be around much longer.

oh and for the player I want most : Carl Crawford or Miguel Cabrera will work for me :bandance::bandance:

Ichiro or Carlos Beltran -- or Johan Santana.

As for Tejada, no thanks, I like Uribe. I think Aparicio was the greatest shortstop ever, and I was a huge fan of Ozzie, but Uribe just may be the best of the three. He sure doesn't have Aparicio's grace and style and don't know if he's as smart as Ozzie, but he can make all of the plays -- quick, fast, cannon arm, great hands, great feet, win-or-die-trying attitude. Want another big bat? There are 7 other positions.

I know that it would be nice to have Santana (as much as I hate the Twins) or Pujols or A-Rod, but I am going to have to agree with Carl Crawford. I don't like to think of the contract that we'd have to offer Pujols or A-Rod. Also, Santana would also add a huge amount to our payroll. I think we could get Carl Crawford for a longer term deal at a much cheaper cost, and he gives us a lot-good hitting, good fielding, great speed. Bringing in Pujols would mean no Thome or PK, and while A-Rod would be a great 3B-he would cost us a lot of $$$ that we couldn't afford. I wonder when his 10 year deal is up how much he will get. I think the Yankees among just a few other teams will try to sign him. I hate to think to have to hear about a $300 million dollar deal or something like that-by the time A-Rod's 10 years are up, I think we could see someone with a deal like that.
