Gee, doesn't look like these swallowed up the Juan Pierre acquisition story (http://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/orl-snails0605dec06,1,711566.story?coll=chi-homepagetravel-hed).

From the article:
Work has already begun on that project. She said so far the only plant the giant snails won't gobble up appears to be another unwanted invasive species.

"That's not good -- these snails are very voracious," she said.

They are voracious--they ate the Marlins' payroll.

Leave it to the Cubune to report all the breaking giant snail news that belongs on the front page:

State sleuths stalk giant invasive snail

For more than a year, giant snails have aggressively taken over lakes throughout Central Florida. But now science is hot on their trail.

The state has launched the first phase of a planned three-year, $300,000 study to assess harm the mammoth mollusks may pose to Florida's waterways.

EDIT: Sorry, mods... didn't realize this was already discussed in WTS... feel free to delete.

Hmmm...The last time the Trib had giant snails they were covering up that murder. Is there something none of us know about that they are covering up now?

We probably Just got Pujols and Santana in a 3 way deal giving up Marte and Fields and 8 season tickets to next years games.
