A co-worker mentioned that there is a big sports store near the Cell with lots of WS merchandise in stock. I went to the gift shop at the park and I was extremely disappointed by the stock and the prices. The above store is supposedly two block from the Cell. Anyone heard of it or been to it lately?

Yes I have been there and it is called Grandstand and it is stocked to the ceiling with Sox merc. I go there all the time and am never disapointed. It is about two blocks west of the Cell.

Its the best place to find White Sox stuff. Their website doesn't do the store justice. Take a trip to the place, if you can.

With all the money I've spent in there since the playoffs began (like I really needed the Sox salt-and-pepper shakers), Grandstand might be able to build an annex. Driving past the store every day on the way home from work doesn't help my wallet, either.

But it was worth it. Damn worth it.

Thanks and Go Sox!!!

I remember that. Wow..that was years ago wasn't it? I think I was there for an Ozzie autograph signing close to 10 years ago.

In 1992, I bought a Sox hat at a place called White Sox Clubhouse. No idea where it was located. Is this the place being referred to above?

Yes I have been there and it is called Grandstand and it is stocked to the ceiling with Sox merc. I go there all the time and am never disapointed. It is about two blocks west of the Cell. It's on the northwest corner of 35th and Wallace, to be exact... and there is a SMALL parking lot behind it, for customers only (of course).

wasn't the Sox Clubhouse located in Oak Brook at the outdoor mall?Yes, it was definitely away from the downtown, and in an outdoor mall. That must be it.

I think that place was an official White Sox store (owned by the team?). Too bad it closed, I used to get tickets there w/out the ticketmaster surcharge.

Yup, it was on the upper level near Nordstrom.
