But a bigger priority is a closer, and the Indians appear to be targeting Trevor Hoffman (http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/7722), who has been offered a two-year deal to stay with the San Diego Padres.

Shapiro and manager Eric Wedge met with Hoffman at his home in Del Mar, Calif., over the weekend.

Also, the Indians have expressed interest in signing free agent Nomar Garciaparra. (http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/7630) The club has discussed using Garciaparra as a utility player at first base, third base and right field.
from cbssportsline.com reports

Seems like Soriano, Nomar, Blalock, Abreu, Juan Pierre are the biggest names being mentioned right now as trade targets. Pat Burrell as well.

I would only be concerned about Nomar to Cleveland if I was a Cleveland fan.

I'm not worried unless MLB is instituting automatic runs for players on the DL.

Yeah, I'm not worried about Nomar going anywhere. Until he proves he can play more than 5 games a year and play like he did when he was with Boston, I don't care if where he plays as long as its not the White Sox.

No concerns here.

I think Cleveland needs to be concerned that the World Series Champion White Sox have gotten better.
