First of all, I just wanna say I'm a huge Juan Uribe fan and think he will do great in the #2 hole next year if thats where ozz puts him. However, I was wondering what LA is gonna do with this guy now that they signed Furcal. If I recal correctly, Izturis is a good young contact hitter with a great glove....an ideal #2 hitter. Might KW go after him and say a bullpen guy for Marte and prospects??? What are your thoughts?

IIRC, Izturis had to undergo Tommy John surgery and will be out until at least the middle of the 2006 season. I think with the acquisition of Furcal, the Dodgers will convert Izturis to a second baseman, but there's that Jeff Kent guy at second base, so who knows..

I like Izturis. I think Izturis would be a nice addition, but he is going to miss the first few months of the season.. The Dodgers are probably going to hold onto him. After Izturis he returns he's either going to be a backup or he might get a chance to play second base if the Dodgers struggle to get offense from the first base position.

Furcal's going to play shortstop, Izturis is going to move to 2nd Base, and Kent is going to move to first.

Don't be surprised if Kent is traded. There are some rumblings about him going to the Mets, but who hasn't been rumored to be going to the Mets?

.263/.302/.374

One of those lines belongs to Timo Perez. The other belongs to Cesar Izturis.

I read somewhere where the plan was to move CI to second when he gets back, and move Kent to first.

Right. Or if Choi breaks out, Izturis will be the utility infielder.
