Zito for Abreu straight up. It gives Oakland a power bat with some speed, it gives Philadelphia an ace for their staff. Thoughts?

hmmm Zito has good stuff but he's been a little shaky over the past few seasons. I'd do it if Oakland threw in some minor league prospects and $$$

Oakland would have to pay like 3 years and $40MM if no cash involved. Why not use that money to lock-up Zito or someone similar?

They have alot of pitching, and besides Abreu and Beltran how many guys could get you 35-40 hrs, 25-30 sbs, a .300 average, and play a damn good outfield.

Well, for a team on a budget like Oakland, I just wouldn't be spending $13MM on anyone per year unless it was a lights out ace.

My thoughts are that you took my idea from Talking Baseball and started a new thread on it. :?:
