Who is going to be replacing John Rooney in the Sox radio booth next season? It was probably mentioned someplace on this board and I didn't see it.

Nothing official from the Sox or WSCR, but my hope is on Dave Wills.

I'd like to inquire further Dave, but just a wild guess that you can't tell us any more...

Countdown until Lip chimes in with his patented "My sources tell me the job is Steve Lyons' if he wants it."

Doesn't anyone pay attention around here?

Mdep:

Actually it's two sources but I'm refraining from answering. After six or seven times you'd figure some folks would look around a mite before asking the same question again.

Steve Lyons who will ever forget the day he dropped his pants at old Comiskey Park. I do think he would go a good job as a broadcaster. Steve Stone would be good also if they could get him.

I wouldn't want Steve Stone doing games for the Sox. I would much rather see Dave Wills.

The ideal situation would be for Stone to replace DJ and for Wills to step in for Rooney.

Did I miss something? I'm under the impression that Farmer was promised the number one spot next year. That would leave Dave Wills out wouldn't it? Besides he has another year on his contract with the Rays. I'd prefer Steve Lyons to Mike North, but then I'd prefer anyone to Mike North. This topic depresses me.

I remember watching the game on TV, after all these years I forgot it was at Tiger Stadium. Tiger Stadium still stands at the interestion of Michigan and Trumball in Detroit and that is one of the many stories the old ball park could tell if it could talk.

It's a shame that the park has been just left derelict.

Steve Lyons is terrible. He did the broadcasts for the Dodgers this year and he's terrible!! He doesn't prepare and always makes the dumbest mistakes.

Kittle would be the worst choice of all. Please give the job to someone with broadcasting experience. Someone has to carry Farmio!

Just because a person is a Sox fan doesn't exempt them from being a crude, boorish, uneducated, uninformed and unintelligible jag.

But maybe some people actually like these previously stated characteristics in their radio annoucers.

Mike North doesn't even know his Sox history witness his moronic statements on Chicago Tribune Live! and that's what you want in an announcer? The 'dumbing down' of America continues.

By the way here is the latest courtesy of Ed Sherman:
