Jimmy P. is a bitter old man.

I'd really like to see Dave Wills come back to town and take over for John.

Black Jack? No way, he burned a lot of bridges with the Sox with his attitude, I think Robin Ventura would fill in nicely....Jimmy P is way past his prime, I don't think he could handle a single game yet alone a whole season

Sigh....for the 8th time.....

Ventura and McDowell didn't even interview for the position telling the Sox they could not possibly work 162 games because of family considerations.

1917, McDowell now is back as part of the Sox family. He was on the field in Anaheim when they clinched, was invited to Sox Fest and may be attending the fantasy camp. Read his WSI interview.

The last information that I have from a source who works in the Sox front office as well as a source who actually interviewed for the color position say that the job will go to either Lyons, Kittle or Cangelosi. One source told me that job is Lyons' if he wants it.

My source with the Sox advised that unless you hear someone in the Sox organization talking about North to dismiss any and all reports of him getting the job. It is NOT going to happen.

Oh, I know Lip. North's not in the running. I just have to laugh how he continues to promote himself as a possibility, and justify how he'd be good for the job.

You know it's the off season when the same threads get brought up on a weekly basis. And in some cases every other day. There are hundreds of posts regarding this topic out there, just as there are hundreds of posts regarding many of the topics on the first page of the forums. I feel bad for the mods.

It makes me angry every Sunday when I turn on my radio in may car on Sundays and hear Rooney broadcasting NFL games and knowing we wont hear him anymore as the Sox broadcaster. I too woudl like to see Wills come back and take over for John.

Black Jack is one of my all-time favorite White Sox, but not in the booth. I think NBC-5 had him as a pre-game commentator for at least one of the post-season series...and it was painful to listen to. :o: He really didn't have anything insightful or interesting to say...even about the pitching match-ups.

The few times Black Jack sat in on West coast games he was quite good.

Wills would be great. Maybe the SOX will do what the Cards did, sign someone until the guy they REALLY want is out of his contract? I don't think Wills signed a long term deal....

As long as Reinsdorf owns the team,Jimmy sad to say won't be back in the booth.

But I want Dave Wills (hell he leaves the D-Rays,damn no one will cry foul over there!).But reality-wise,I say Black Jack would be good!

:D: Good Lord, we can bring in Wayne Hagen (going retro here) and he can declare that this is the broadcasting job he wants to "retire" with as he said with the Rockies and the Cardinals.............:o:
