Hawk has called him Juanito on numerous occasions. Translation "little Juan" I love it.

Not a nickname, but thanks to DJ I always think, "lizard legs" when I see Juan run.

Re "Juanito" sounds cute to me, but Id rather hear a Dominican, or at least someone of Hispanic origin, chime in on whether or not thats kind of a put-down.

I like it Jaunbelievable, but it's probably too long. I doubt that it would catch on.

and of course

For real now, how about calling him Juan, Uribe, or Juan Uribe. Nicknames just sort of happen. I don't think people sit around brainstorming nicknames.

The Magic Juan.

.

I second the motion. His unorthodox style looks like he is using a magic wand at times. You just can't believe he comes up with the ball at times.

sorry I can't help myself: what do you call two hispanic people playing basketball? Juan on Juan. I honestly don't mean to offend anyone, it's an old joke.

juanito is like calling someone named tom, tommy, or mike, mikey, or jim, jimmy. it's not offensive at all.

before we concentrate our power on coming up with an awesome nickname, we should make sure people are getting his real name right.

How about...

"The-greatest-defender-you-don't-want-your-little-league-short-stop-son-to-idolize" Uribe

Juan and Timo Perez scare me... I have no idea how Juan does it.

Fundamentals? What are those?

(I'm still working on a catchy cheer to incorporate the nickname above.)
