He is a cheap productive player, who has a history of injury problems. What I was thinking is sign him for around 4.5 million/yr (he made 4 million last yr). During the season have him and Anderson split time in LF. Come deadline time they decide. If Anderson is ready for full time everyday duties then deal Sanders for a couple of prospects. If he isn't ready you have Sanders to finish the year.

I wouldnt really want Sanders, but it seems like he has a new team every year so who knows.

It sounds nice, but lets say he does get injured ala Magglio. Even if you wanna trade him, youd be stuck eating salary.

If Kenny isn't scared to put Jose Valentin in center, he definitely isn't scared to put an actual outfielder (Brian Anderson) out there. Plus Brian Anderson is an excellent outfielder.

Come on. We just won the world series...surely we can do better than this.

Do you have any idea how many World Series outfields Reggie Sanders has started for!?!

Do you have any idea how many World Series outfields Reggie Sanders has started for!?!NLCS with Cincinnatti in 1995.
2000 NLDS with Atlanta
2001 World Series champ with Arizona
2002 World Series with San Francisco
2004 World Series with St. Louis
2005 NLCS with St. Louis.
That's some postseason resume. I think a lot of other teams could use him, but that would be a good bat off the bench.

I just don't see much reason to grab up another middle of the order type guy right now. If Konerko doesn't sign then possibly consider him but even in that scenario he would probably DHing a bit with Thome getting a good amount of time at 1st.

I just don't really see it as a necessary signing at this moment.

Also I don't see Sanders signing somewhere to be a part time player as was suggested here.

I agree with ya...
I thought about Sanders when I first heard he was a free agent.
For some reason, every team that guy goes to wins.
I would like to see him share LF with Anderson and platoon at DH on occasion.

Well, if you get Sanders you can basically plan on being in the playoffs. I mean seriously, is this guy ever on a losing team?

And as for getting him for real? Nnnnno...

Last year pods was an everyday centerfielder that moved to leftfield, if konerko doesn't resign with the whitesox, then reggie sanders would be a great hitter in the numer 5 slot, or he could a good stop gap at left until anderson's time has come.
