Great video. When looking at the 70's video, was funny to see what a sleazy looking character Eric Soderholm was, even back then.

They are good clips. I remember watching them when they were on the whitesox.com during the playoffs. Horrible Rolling Stones song. :redneck

I believe these clips were part of a "History of the White Sox" video that came out about 1987. MLB and Scotch Home Video had some sort of promotion with videos histories of most teams.

The title of the video was called The Chicago White Sox: A Visual History. The tape did indeed come out in 1987 (I have a copy)

It is a little surprising that with all the video MLB has through Phoenix Communications, that all they could do was reuse material that came out a long time ago. It would have been great to see some fresh material that continues to lie around in their vaults.

The "Winning Ugly" song? Whats the history of that? I liked it, in a cheesy "Don't stop Believin'" kind of way.

Released by the Rolling Stones in 1986 from the Album Dirty Work.

Huh.

So it wasn't even around for the '83 season.

That would have been a cool song to play after white sox winners in 1983. Thanks for the info!

Hey if anyone is interested I found this program that lets you download streaming video to your computer and creates a windows media file out of it. With it I was able to save these clips to my computer as well as the ones of the sox intro. Here is the program's site: http://sdp.ppona.com/:bandance:
