My sister in law lives in suburban Atlanta, so I may be able to make a weekend of it with my wife.

You can usually get pretty cheap airfare from Chicago to Atlanta....I might have to consider that for a weekend trip.

a pre-season battle of the "Manager of the Year" winners. I like it.

Looks like my 1 trip to Milw this year will be to see them play someone else.
Maybe Cleve is playing them. I like going up there stopping off at the outlet stores, Mars Cheeshouse, Brat Stop, and then heading up to Miller park for a game.

Anyone ever stop off at the Big Hot Dog (you all know what place i'm talking about) on your way over the border....

I was looking forward to being close to home for at least one Sox game this year.
Oh well...

I'd say the Cell is pretty close.

And Turner Field isn't far from Hartsfield Airport! A straight shot north on I-75 before you get downtown.

AWESOME...they get to fly from Tucson all the way out east to Atlanta and then come back here to start the season. Going all the way out there after Srpring Training makes almost no sense at all

Sweet!
:bandance:

A mere 20 minute bike ride to the game! Can't wait to see them. You know, the last time I saw an exibition game vs Atlanta was when Ventura booted two consecutive grounders in the bottom of the 9th to lose the game. Geez, that memory should have stayed gone.

Anyhoo, lemmie know if anyone needs info about accomodations, where to munch food, attractions (other than lap-dances), etc.

Atl to Midway is no more than 2 hours (including the Hartsfield delays). It shouldn't be too bad. Besides, after playing in sunny and 80, you want to put off the chilly spring weather as much as possible.

I'd say the Cell is pretty close.

I meant being about 10-15 minutes from the park. But I guess it is all relative. If you think 92 miles to the park is close, that's great. It is closer than you are, but not as close as my old neighborhood (83rd & Cicero).

I just thought that it would be nice not to have to leave at least 4 hours before a game to get there on time (3 hours sitting in traffic) and that it might be nice to get back from a game before midnight.

This is very tempting. Atlanta's not a bad place to spend the night (7 p.m. game Friday + 1 p.m. game Saturday).

We were supposed to see a game at Turner Field in August, but it got hurricaned out.
