Dusrin Hermanson is now a Red Sox.
Could this be a sign of the return of Rick Ankiel?

I'm guessing they sign Alou. The reports were that they would like to sign him, but they had to dump salary first. Now that Hermanson is gone they can go after Alou.

If they sign Alou then their OF would be him, Edmonds, and Drew, with Pujols moving to 1st base.

Not to shabby.

NL is going to be one hell of a race if the cards get Alou. I think we know what to expect in the AL.

I read the Cards were going after Tino Martinez 1st. Less costly, but a run producer.

Flubs want Alou. :whiner:

Well I don't know if the flubs will get Alou, but they could easily. The difference between the sides isnt that big. Is Delino Deshields the starting 2B though? Ouch....

Also, if I'm a GM out there I'm avoiding Tino unless he is a one-year sign ala Juan Gonzalez.....the best case is what he produced last year..good not great, and a substancial chance at a drop-off. I am rather curious to see how an "ex-yankee" does...Brosius and O'Neill both retired so Tino is my best test case for an older "veteran" type who played a role in the World Championshiop reign and now goes elsewhere
