I'm currently reading "Magic Time" by W.P Kinsella. In it he talks briefly abuot Ivan Calderon. He says...I once saw Ivan Calderon of the WhiteSox play about thre innings wearing a relief pitchers name and number on is back. Is there any truth to this? Anyone ever hear of this before?

Wow, and that was long before Terry Bevington would have been around to manage something like that.

I don't remember that happening, though I would have been pretty young at the time. The last time I can recall a player coming in wearing the wrong uniform was a time when a Relief Pitcher once came in wearing the uni of then bullpen catcher Mark Salas. I remember seeing it but I can't remember who the player was.
