and in adding up the games, i don't know where they come up with the 405 buck savings for the year for my lower box ticket...

maybe they figure in the ticketmaster charge...

$2,271 + cubs does not equal $2,410 + $405 savings.

You knew that was coming. The thing about winning the World Series is it costs money and of course we have to help fund that. My guess is tickets were going up regardless.

I thought I read something on this very site that ticket prices were going to be increased about $2-$3 a game next year.

Yeah I'm curious what the listed ticket price is for the Cubs series.

Premier Games: 19 games @ $41 = $779
Prime Games: 15 games @ $36 = $540
Regular Games: 38 games @ $32 = $1,216
(EDIT) Monday Games: 6 games @ $32 = $192
(EDIT) Cubs Games: 3 games @ ???
---------
$2727

(which would be a $317 savings from your $2410 season price)

They probably don't list the Cubs because you can only get those through season ticket plans.

Sox vs Cubs prices aren't listed becuase you can only get those games via ticket plan. (Full/Split/Ozzie)

Just buy quickly glacing at the prices, it looks like they only went up $2 in all levels and categories, which isn't bad. I was expecting a huge price jack.

I believe the Cubs games are $5 more than the Premier.

I think what you are missing is that you don't pay 1/2 price for Monday's on a Season Ticket plan. Try recalculating with Full Price for the monday games.

From glancing at it quickly, it looks like upper deck ticket prices are the same across the board.

Might be a $1 increase on premium upper, but the rest are the same if I'm not mistaken.

I paid my 10% downpayment already for our UD tix. Invoice asked for the same total as last year for UD Box.

I noticed that too. I don't think it's the Ticketmaster charge. Here's one way it could add up:

Perhaps before they won the World Series, the April 3rd Opening Day game was designated Premier price, like it was in 2005. If that was the case, and the Cubs price is:

Upper Deck - $27
Upper Box - $35
Premium Upper Box - $41
Bleachers - $53
Lower Reserved - $55
Lower Box - $63
Premium Lower Box - $89
Club Level - $85
Premium Club Level - $91

...then, the pre-discount prices on the season tickets page add up to the total of their face values.

So maybe, after they won the World Series, they changed Opening Day from Prime to Premier, since I imagine it's now the World Series Champions Ring Ceremony and Opening Day.

If they're raising ticket prices, then we should have adequate fund to re-sign some key players!

the prices were set before they clinched the division.....

the "increases" are more due to yankees and cardinals games being "premium"(but on tues-thurs)
Opeing Day is aprime date(but dont be suprised it they make it a premier date)
astros are prime dates too(see opening day)

Sorry to disappoint you but the Astros and Opening Day are all Premiere games according to the Sox website.

Sorry to disappoint you but the Astros and Opening Day are all Premiere games according to the Sox website. They've also added an Indians series, a Twins series and the mid-week Cardinals series. That's 19 Premier dates vs. 10 last year.

I was thinking that too but 6 games @ 32 instead of 16 is only a $96 difference
make a full season $2367 + (3) cubs games

so unless each cubs game is 150 then I don't get a $405 savings.

no that I really care...i just want to know how they get the $405 number

If I see the Royals or Devil Rays as Premeir Games, I will be very unhappy. Although, I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks if I was able to get to opening day or the Sox-Flubs game.

to correct myself...i must have a clearer head this morning...i redid the the math, through excel instead of old school pencil and paper...i now came up with

$2631 for Lower Box w/ 1/2 price mondays and w/out the cubs...

so the $2410 I paid and the $405 savings is all making more sense.:bandance:

another look at it...as supply of single game tickets go down due to an increase of season ticket holder, scalper prices go up.
