I do like our opening. We get Cleveland at home then make a trip to KC. Could be a very nice start to the season. The Twins will be a lot weaker, but Cleveland will be a very competitive team.

That is too bad that Milwaukee is not on the schedule. I am betting that if Bud still owned the team they would be on the schedule. It has been several years since the Sox have played them and I miss the rivalry.

Agreed!

I really wish they would just stack the interleague schedules with rivalries all around, where applicable.

We should play STL, MIL and the Cubs every year. California teams should play other California teams, Mets should always get Boston, etc. etc.

As well, they should always play last year's World Series teams against each other. Why not?

we didnt have any 1-city road trips last year (except labor day).

why do we have a 3 game road trip to seattle, and a two game trip to cleveland? 3@ pit & 3@ cub is like a one city trip but one cannot complain about who we are playing.

A 4 game homestand against cleveland between going to boston and anaheim?

i know they changed who makes out the schedules a year or two ago.
i dont like how this is put together.

Are so sure about Cleveland being that much better. A good portion of thier pitching staff is out because of free agency, including wickman and thier most dominant starter. To say they might be as competitive as this year is highly dependant on thier offseason acquisitions and re-signings.

The white sox on the other hand only have to worry about PK.

Also if there is only one trip to oakland and we are playing more teams from the east and midwest it is a huge improvement. I like this schedule better then this years, just because there are fewer trips to oakland.

So who are the rivals for the D-Rays? It has to work for all 30 teams or it will not fly.

Yes, it would be nice to play St L and Mil but until the leagues have the same number of teams you will have an unbalanced inter-league schedule to an unbalanced intra-league schedule.

The NL Central has six teams. We have five. The math does not work.

I see my dream World Series matchup is set for June 27-29 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. How many other people would list the Sox-Pirates as the World Series matchup they'd most like to see?

Anyway, PNC Park is beautiful. It's a great venue to watch baseball and the people are friendly. It also helps that Heinz Field is right down the street so that I may bow to the home of my beloved Steelers. The city of Pittsburgh as a whole is quite a cool place to visit.

And now with Southwest flying to Pittsburgh, western Pennsylvania might be a great place to visit in late June next summer.

what was wrong with a late start on sundays? It not only gave you more time to prepare for and tailgate, it also gave you a little longer to work off saturday's hangover.

I like the later start on friday though.

I'm surprised that there are no weekend trips to Cleveland or Detroit. Those were easy trips to travel and see the Sox on the road. I always try to get to at least one road weekend series a year. This year was Balt., and they swept:D: . It looks like Cincy, or Toronto might be the best fits for me this year. I was hoping for Pitt to see PNC, but oh well.

If I watch it on TV, I'm ready to watch a game by 1:00. Plus if there's a good golf tournament going, it's easier to switch over at 4:00 to watch the end of it.

Good news, good news!

Although the WORLD CHAMPS should have no qualms about playing on the West Coast (3-0 in Anaheim when it really counted!), it is still a plus to only have to make two regular-season trips out there: April 24-30 to Seattle and Los Angeles; Sept. 11-17 to Los Angeles and Oakland.

Also, they only have one trip scheduled to Texas, another place they have struggled, June 12-15. As a Dallas-based Sox fan, that's bad for me but good for the Sox overall.

There are 34 total games against the AL West (18 total home, 16 on the road, only 12 on the West Coast!):
Texas: 6 home, 4 away
Seattle: 6 home, 3 away
Oakland: 3 home, 3 away
Los Angeles: 3 home, 6 away

They also only have ONE trip each to Boston, New York and Tampa Bay. They also get a four-day All-Star break.

They also get to play the DREGS of the inferior NL Central, in addition to Houston (whom they SWEPT!) and the Cardinals at home. I mean really, they get to pound on the Cubs for six games, and then get to barnstorm into Cincy and Pittsburgh.

Lots of road games (18) in September, but then again, the Sox had the best road record in the league in 2005! What's not to like!

This schedule portends 100 wins and a White Sox REPEAT!

I am surprised no fireworks are scheduled for the 4th of July (3:05 pm scheduled start). I guess last years rain delayed game took too long.

6 Weekday afternoon games to sell (same as last year - not counting Opening Day or the Friday Cubs game).
We are on the road quite a bit in September (18 games including Oct 1, 11 home games, two off days (possible rain out makeup dates)).

In town in the warm summer months (44 home games) so which is excellent. Glad the Cubs game is in May - 3 more home sellouts in the crappy weather months!!!

We will avoid some of the Cardinal fans by having the game during the week (sort of surprised they didn't flip flop the Cards with the Astros). Cleveland's June series and Minnesota's August are "premier" games which is something they haven't done before with division rivals - wonder how that will play out with non season ticket holders.

My main concern at this point is the club's best promotion - $1 Hot Dog / $2.50 Kosher Dog Thursdays!!!

The two significant elements that change each year are 1) who you play in the NL, and 2) who you play one extra series against within the AL.

The way the schedule breaks down, we'll play an extra series against the following non-Central teams: TOR, LAA, SEA, and TEX. Compare that to last year when we had extra series against LAA, OAK, SEA, and TEX. (so we get more TOR and less OAK).

The NL matchups are tougher this year. Last year we got the patsies from the NL West, and we feasted on them going 12-6.

Finally we only go to Oak once. Bout time. Hate that place.

Cards and Astros back to back should be fun.

AT Toronto may twice be no bargain this year.

Only six half price mondays again. No tin can promotion this year at all so the cheap tickets will be rare this year- price of success. Thats ok.

Like splitting the cub series' up by a month. Give everyone a chance to breathe and recover.

I am saying maybe 120-42. Go Sox
