To me 1983 was always a very special team -it was the team of my youth, I have a lot of great memories of going to games and seeing rooftop homeruns and singing naaa all year long , having fun with my parents who were alive at the time and winning ugly . It was pure ,it was the first time the sox were in a post season for a long time and I knew they were going to the world series no doubt about it-kittle, baines , the bull , walker and hoyt would not let me down ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. many years later, many heart aches, many tears, lost hope sometimes 2005 showed up at the door step. I have to say what took you so long lol. I have to say 1983 ,you were sweet but there is a new owner of my heart go whitesox

The 2005 White Sox are like the girl you marry....head and shoulders above all the rest.

The 1983, 1993, 2000 White Sox are like the serious girlfriends you have very fond memories of but something was missing.

The 1972, 1977, 1990 White Sox were like great summer flings that never really went anywhere.

I think that the '93 Sox were just as good as this year's squad in terms of raw talent. The difference is that this year's team executed when it counted.

That's a pretty big difference.

That's a pretty big difference.

Indeed. And it shows how important strong managers/coaches are.

Yep....Gene Lamont vs. Ozzie Guillen....I think the 1993 team won despite Gene Lamont....the 2005 team won because of Ozzie Guillen.

No disrespect to Lamont, but I think that Ozzie might be the next Bobby Cox (and hopefully he'll win more WS than him).

And the '94 Sox...the girl you were ready to marry, until you found her with your bestfriend.

Or you stopped by her place....her apartment is empty....and the landlord says "she moved out and left town with no forwarding address".

For me the team that the 2005 Sox replace is the 1959 team that only managed to go six games against the Dodgers.

That was kind of like going on a date and finding that the gorgeous woman you're with is your half-sister.

the 1919 team was the team you eloped with only to get the marriage annulled the next day.

So the 1919 Sox were Britney Spears?

LMAO...this is too good.

Let's see, you have the Bevington era Sox, or the not-so-attractive rebound fling after getting your heart ripped out and jilted at the altar in '94.

I tried. :D:

Or you found out your bride was actually a man.

Actually...no.

Actually...no.

There are three characters, a man, a woman, and an older man sitting and
observing the action. The man and woman are having a passionate affair
and are utterly obsessed with each other. As the action continues, we find
out that the two of them became obsessed at first sight, that they are
half-brother and sister and that the old man is their father. At the end of
the play they admit that they found out that they were related but continue
to have their affair anyway.

The 1993 squad was like the girl you were engaged to marry until you find out at the bachelor party that another man (Michael Jordan) has his own conquests in mind (news floating around he was retiring).
The 2000 team was the woman you considered proposing to until she reveals that she's got some sort of venerial disease. The bats went limp.

the 1919 team was the team you eloped with only to get the marriage annulled the next day.The 1906 team was the woman you married first but died in her 30s...and the one you send a dozen roses to her grave site every day, a la Joe D.

Actually, I think the '93 team was more talented, but the difference, as has been pointed out, was the managers.

'93 team: prettier, but ultimately couldn't measure up to '05's overall attractiveness.
