Today or tommorow throughout the midwest, according to the press release Time inc. sent me along with the cover.

They were selling them at Target in Glenview this morning. They also had them at Walgreen's, with the Cubune's 128 page commemorative book.

I used to have a spike but then just went with the messy look (oh yeah, after a brief comb over  ) I've been in Peoria the last few days and while getting ready my 2 year old handed me some mouse and said, "What's that) Blumb popped in my head right away. I put a dab in my hand and went to work. I don't have as much hair as he has, but I was Blum for a day!!!

Does anybody know, is what's in this going to basically be replicated in the hardcover book they're selling?

I was thinking the same thing. Brian Anderson seemed to have as good a time as anyone on the active roster. I'm looking forward to seeing him as an everyday player. The 2 HRs off Felix Rodriguez in Seattle were big.

I bought mine today at Walmart. Also, the Cubune put out a really nice, thick magazine on our season. I bought one of each comemerative collectors issue I could find, and they had one for just about every sports magazine. They were like $7 each (the Trib one was $12), but it is worth it. I haven't purchased championship stuff since 1998.

Brian and Aaron reminded me of when I was 12. Excited and on the edge of their seats when something good or emotional happened.

I gotta say it was great to see Damaso jumping up and down in the bullpen when Konerko hit that slam. That's the way it should be.

The main part is a limb of a compound bow, the background is my 73 Camaro, along with Sox logo's of years gone by. Winningugly made it for me.

I found it at Dominick's at Western and Roscoe. It was on a support the Sox display that was the first thing you see when you walk in the store. It's a very nice issue, great pics and many articles. Good keepsake.

Yes, with the exception of an article on Ozzie and a photo gallery. This according to the ad in the Comm. SI for the hardcover edition.

It really is a great photo. For those people who are ordering the Sports Illustrated Championship package, they give you an opportunity to purchase a high-quality reproduction of the cover at 11" x 14" size, ready for framing.

Any chance someone could pick up an extra copy of the SI and the Cubune Sox Mags? I don't live in the Midwest and would really like a copy. I will pay for the shipping and handling as well. Please PM me if you could do me this HUGE favor!

Anyone in Champaign have any luck? I looked at Borders and Wall Mart but had no luck. Hopefully tomorrow will be a different story. I haven't been able to locate a program around here either. I may just have to order that on line.

Are the Trib and Sun-Times Sox books out yet? Sorry if this has been answered already, but I couldn't tell if people were talking about the SI special edition (which I just purchased) or the Trib's book.

ChiSoxGirl, I got my commemorative SI copy at the Jewel Osco on Lee/Mannheim Rd in Des Plaines. They had a World Series display near the photo dept. They also had the "Believe It!" soft cover book the Trib put out.

That's where I got mine yesterday morning. I picked up not only the commemorative edition of SI, but also the Cubune's 128 page book (which looks just awesome!) and a couple other commemorative magazines published by companies I'd never heard of before.

I got my copy of the Trib's publication today at the Barnes & Noble in the Loop. Interesting Foreword by Jerome Holtzman:

"Chicago is a two-team city.....The attendance figures are not an accurate index of the faithful and the passion. I hope the White Sox no longer will be described as the second team."

Let me know if you find anything in Champaign/Urbana. Don't have a car on campus, so if I have to borrow a friends or take the bus somewhere, I want to make sure I can get it. Have you had luck finding any merchandise anywhere here? The only place I could find was Gameday sports, and all they had were ALCS tees.

I just ordered 3 SI commemorative edition covers reprinted on high quality stock
suitable for framing. They want too much to frame so I'll do it myself. If you buy 3 or more you pay no shipping. Thought about getting the Pods cover and the one with Dick Allen smoking, maybe next time
