View Full Version : Pete Ward and other Sox of the sixties...

Mike Downey's column of a couple days ago mentioned Pete Ward's attempts at watching the 14 inning game while flying into Portland with a layover in LA. Reading that it a chord with me because throughout the WS, I have been thinking about the hitless wonders of the sixties and the southside hitman of the seventies ---- and wondering "how do you guys feel about the 2005 AL chams, now WS champs??? I have seen enough of the news interviews of the '59 Sox (i've seen Pierce, Minoso, Lown, maybe others), but what I want to know is how the Sox of the sixties and seventies respond to this year's team.
Wouldn't it be great to see some of their impressions on this site?

I've talked to Joe Horlen, Pete, Carlos May and a number of other guys and to a man they are happy for the Sox.
