I don't like Oprah either, but it will showcase the team like few other programs. Especially among women.

And frankly, when the the women want to go to the Cell, their menfolk will follow.:(:

The sad thing is... he'd almost HAVE to make an appearance on there just to get his word out. No one believes until Oprah tells them to, or prints it in her ragazine.

Ah, I see. Well, I went to the Cell over 20 times this season, and my boyfriend only went three, so he's not too compliant, and that's fine with me. He just doesn't get the passion that the true fans have. He doesn't care at all about sports.

The White Sox have had a better year. Go out and win a World Series if you don't want to have to wait for people with real accomplishments when you're out promoting your movie.

Wasn't Oswalt on Letterman last week? Why, I don't know. Letterman has to redeem himself by putting some White Sox on his show. And what about Leno, Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America, Live with Regis...,etc?

It's time for some big time national recognition.

Letterman and Leno seemed to be in reruns the day after they clinched as well as tonight. Same with just about every other late night talk show except for maybe Kimmel. I fully expect some sox material next week. Saturday night live might be a stretch but it sure would be interesting. Maybe a superfans revival or something. Though I must confess I haven't watched that show in like four years.

I was at my in-laws' place when the Sox appeared on Oprah. I normally don't watch her show, but I thought this was a great idea. Remember...she said it was "okay" to jump on the Cubs' bandwagon in 2003 while the screaming fans in the audience went wild. In my opinion, it was only fair to give more respect to a team that actuallt WON a World Series instead of choking on their way there.

And think about this...how many women across the country are now salivating over the "hotness" of the Sox players. I noticed there were a lot of loud screams over Geoff Blum, Ozzie, Pods, Rowand, and Buerhle. People may actually grow more interested in the Sox now that they have Oprah's "Seal of Approval" like the books she endorses becoming New York Times' best sellers. Let's take advantage of this fame and exposure. The more the Sox do well, the less that "other team" from the north side can claim "top popularity status".

And to think...we actually EARNED the right to be the top team in this city.

That said, I think Jenks would be a natural for Dave's show.

Yeah I saw the Oprah appearance too, and she asked them pretty basic questions. I remember she singled out AJ, Cliff, Aaron, Scott (big surprise there--the women started screaming their heads off before he even opened his mouth to answer the question), Joe, Ozzie of course, and some others. The camera definetly lingered long on the more attractive guys, Scott, Neal, I must say that Oprah's makeup dept. did a fantastic job cause they all looked really stellar--not that they're ugly guys, but everyone's skin looked really flawless and hair was styled to a T. The women were just loving it--don't blame em, I'm a female Sox fan and while I love following them for their awesome playing and not their looks I couldn't help but notice that appearance they looked the nicest. She didn't know who any of them were, she would say a name and wait for that person to step forward to talk to them. Not that she would though, I don't see O as a baseball fan or I'm sure she would have finagled some scout seats in the playoffs. Still kinda nice for her to invite them on the show.

Of course George Clooney came next, and you know all the middle aged women's minds went into shock the second he came out I assume, I stopped watching then. So I doubt they even remember who was on before him.

If a bunch of middle age women can fall in love with 1 person and make her a billionaire, just imagine what they can do with the Sox?

In any case, this is still terrific PR for the guys. They deserve it. Only bad thing is getting tickets for opening day next year won't be easy.

I was at Oprah for the live shot yesterday. A friend of mine from Harpo said that they literally put the Sox segment together between 4 & 5 p.m. after the plane landed Thursday. It was a fun piece and afterward, Neal Cotts and a woman came out with about 20 caps to give to the audience. I didn't get one, but I did shake Neal's hand (sorry, I will wash it). The entire audience got the locker room grey t-shirt on the way out. Btw, my wife made it into one of the crowd shots, so now she can tell her friends she was on the Oprah show w/ George Clooney ...lol*

I was at a bar out west at a surprise party when the Oprah re-run went on the big screen. You couldn't hear a thing but the women in the bar went nuts over the guys on the Sox. The Sox are the hottest thing in Chicago sports right now. My wife watched all the games intently. [She earlier this season said hates watching baseball] I noticed she'd mention how the Sox players are "taller' than the other teams. I also noticed she became real attentive with Rowand, Burls and Anderson. [Who's the guy next to Aaron?] Personally, I think it's awesome and of course it works to my advantage too. LOL!
