If United is the "Official Airline of the White Sox," why have the Sox flown back to Midway on UAL's chief rival, American Airlines?

I've always wondered the same thing. Mrs. OBT is a flight attendant with AA and knows the usual White Sox crew. Seems they always fly American (not just yesterday).

If United is the "Official Airline of the White Sox," why have the Sox flown back to Midway on UAL's chief rival, American Airlines?Generally speaking, all the "Official (whatever) of the Chicago White Sox" means is that they've paid the Sox a fee to be able to say that. Sometimes the Sox actually use those companies - sometimes not.
