Mr. White Sox

On the final Wednesday of October, though, it didn't matter what anybody thought of these White Sox in February. All that mattered was the 27th out that landed in the glove of Mr. White Sox, Paul Konerko (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5908).

Now my name has another meaning! Woohoo!
This was a pretty cool article as well.

As an aside:
An ESPN.com poll says 74% of the nation thinks we won't repeat; Illinois is the only "blue" state. We don't care!

ESPN also said that the Yankees are considered the favorites to win the '06 WS. Now someone needs to explain that one to me...

Here's yet another article nicknaming a certain Sox player Mr. White Sox; Willie Harris did the deed here (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2005/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=2197536):

This is a neat article on Frank, and gives me optimism as to his future with the Sox.

Not surprising. How many teams repeat anyway? Very hard to do, regardless of how good you are.

Because when in doubt you choose the Yankees because you know they're going to put out a ****load of money to try and win next year.

In other words, these predictions are pointless. You can't predict who will win the '06 World Series, at least not until rosters are set in stone and it's a long time from that. Why did they even do that, that's what I want to know.

The best ESPN prediction ever is the Gammons 2005 World Series. The Minnesota Twins over the Chicago Cubs (it actually might be vice versa, either is ridiculous).

Predictions are useless. I trust my own baseball knowledge over the experts.

The only person that even predicted the World Series for us was Ryne Sandberg.

How is it possible to already hype the Yankees when they haven't even made a move yet?

I can't wait til Comcast's national channel launches. Maybe they'll employ people that aren't dumb.
