I'd like to but I took off today to see them at Midway Airport, expecting a Saturday parade for some reason. I think my boss would kill me if I take off two days in a row.

Although this is way more important than work....I'll probably decide in the morning when I get up.

Amen. I just wrote exactly the same thing on another board.

We are so lucky. I know some other HS Sox fans that have to go to school instead of going to the parade. I feel bad for them. Anyways, I am going, I just don't know where yet.

Hell yeah, I'm gonna be there [unless I get kidnapped at work tonite  ].

It's kinda sad that this may be the last time for a huge pile of Sox fans to hang out and jump around together in this truly magical year.

Ferris Bueller would have a plan. In fact IIRC he attended a parade downtown after ditching school - driving around in a Porsche.

I plan on being right near LaSalle & Jackson at noon, for as long as my lunch "hour" will allow. I will probably be in my black and grey nylon White Sox jacket, and my green Halfway to St. Patrick's Day hat from last year-if I remember to bring the hat.

My boss and I will probably be on Washington and LaSalle. However, I may use that as a starting point and head north and see how close I can get to the end point. Who knows, as long as I see it and hear it (they already hooked up speakers and are having jumbotrons out there) I will be happy.

I agree, I don't care what the consequences are, I will be there.

I will be in my pink and green 1985 style sox jersey, I wore my 1917 and 1985 t shirt today, saving the truly outrageous pink and green jersey for the parade.

You have a few options. LaSalle/Van Buren, Quincy, Washington, or Clark/Lake. I'm getting off at Clark/Lake because that's the closest station to where the rally is going to be.

I'll be heading down to Lasalle with the family and of course a video camera. Everybody don't forget to pop in a video tape or set the tivo for recording the parade while your gone, however I can't sleep becuase of all the excitment built up inside and have been watching CLTV and I noticed they are going to replay the parade tonight again at 7pm for those who missed it. Have a blast today everybody, we deserve it! Thank you CHICAGO WHITE SOX!!!!:D:

I'll be there along with my wife and 8 week old son. Should be a blast...

Be sure to get there early! Streets around LaSalle will start shutting down around 11:00 so plan your route to the parade accordingly. I just saw the area from the El and they already have a bunch of stuff set up. A few news trucks are there and there are porta-potties set up on some of the intersections. The generator truck for the rally is already on Wacker and setting up.

The boss just gave me the day off, so I'll be there. I'm going to take the Blue Line from Cumberland to the Jackson stop and from there head over to LaSalle. I should be easy to find, just look for a 5'9 stocky Irish guy wearing a worn green White Sox hat and black jersey.

There is a nice little Irish bar called Cavanuagh's(???) in the Manodnock (sp?) building at the corner of Jackson (buliding right across the street from the Dirkson Federal Building). I'll be there having a couple, hope to see some fellow WSI'ers.

If anyone is stuck at work and has internet access, the Trib's web site says they'll be showing WGNs live coverage starting at 11 am. I don't know what that means (postage stamp size video at 12 fps?), but it's an option.

I don't work on Fridays, so the timing is perfect for me. My friend and I are catching the Metra at 10:10. I'll have my four-year-old daughter with me and she'll have her two girls. We're keeping them out of school today to attend. I decided to send my first-grade son to school and my mom offered to pick him up for me (hooray for grandma!). He loves the Sox, but is also mildly autistic and doesn't like noise, so I don't think it would be a good time for him. I plan to tape the broadcast and watch it with him tonight.

We'll be somewhere on LaSalle.

Waited 90 minutes out there for something that only lasted a few minutes, but it was well worth it. The guys were all beaming. MB seemed incredibly fired up - so awesome.
