Lawrence Holmes on the Score reports that it's a madhouse down there...at least 5000 people, lined up 6 deep along 63rd Street.
Bernstein also said that 2 firetrucks greeted the plane with jets of water over the plane after it landed.
Pretty cool.

Major thanks to the thread starter, I had it on Comcast assuming they would cover it from the start, but they had postgame replay and I had lost track of time

Fox anchor:
[Obviously having no idea who Willie Harris is by sight]
"My guess is that's wither Willie Harris or Carl Everett. They're about the same height. Can't be Jermaine Dye - not tall enough."

I'm watching online with the sound off. Are there two planes or are they replaying the footage?

No kidding! I went thru all my stations, including WGN, and nothing. I hope they show the parade tomorrow. I'll ask my son to tape it for me.

Just came back from there. I live right on Central so its a nice little walk (about 1 mile) to get there and let me tell you it was great. Burls was the second one out and was hanging out of the window holding up a chapionship sign. Ozzie, Garcia, and Contreras all had limos of their own and drove by real real slow while standing out of the top of the roof. I will post the pics I took if someone can tell me how to do that. Reinsdorf had the trophy in the passenger seat. Oh, and I got to see Lisa Dergan. Holy crap she is a sight to behold. Anyway the crowd was huge. At LEAST 5,000 proabably a lot more. Good times on the Southwest side today. Now traffic is backed up for a few miles on Central. What a mess that is.

I don't think we've seen local television cover a plane landing like this since Pope John Paul II came to Chicago on October 4, 1979. I remember him getting off the plane and standing through the roof of his limo (pre-Popemobile days) waving to people on Milwuakee Avenue and wearing a red hat.
