View Full Version : Are you ready to celebrate in case we win? How?

Being very cautious and superstitious, I didn't buy any champagne yet. Told wife to get some on the way home from work. If they win, I'll be home with my family in small town Wisconsin. Nothing big planned, but I'm sure going to have lots of that champagne with spouse. Kids can have that carbonated apple juice. I know I'll be too pumped to sleep at night. At work the next day, I will wear my Sox gear, even though it's against the dress code and nobody will care, except to laugh at me because they know I"m a Sox fanatic :)

Spray champagne everywhere and shoot off some fireworks. in the morning i'll go down to 7/11 before school and buy a ton of copies of the trib (i would get the sun times, but they don't print/sell it in Grand Rapids, MI). I'll be wearing sox stuff as usual, and i'll have the best day of my life.

I have NO idea. If (when) they win and I get called to go out, I will I don't care that I have work tomorrow! That's what coffee's for!! :D: If not, I'll be screaming my head off and probably run around my apartment complex screaming Sox win! I have to play it by ear. I'm most definately gonna wear my Sox sweatshirt to work tomorrow though

I keeping my superstition wardrobe on - pajamas (hey, I get up at 4:00 a.m.)

Since my son is away at college, and husband will be sleeping, I will be jumping up and down, arms raised, and just calling my best friend saying "Can you believe we did it?"

I'll be with 15,000 of my closest friends at the UC.

10-26-2005, 03:47 PM
I went online to find a Sox Flag to fly in the hood. And they will let you order a WS champs flag. I didn't......no way I'm going to be the Bartman of this club! I'll order it one minute after the final out!!!!

I am going to bed about 8pm don't think there is anything going on tonight!

Just kidding I am taking my son to the United Center to watch the game, I am also making a stop at Hawkeyes before the game for a few beers.

With a few tears, a hug and kiss with my wife, a call to my dad, and a few words with my grandad, no doubt watching from upstairs.

Word to that my friend.

Gonna celebrate with my wife, Lt. Deuce. Just wish we could have made it up to Chicago for the party in the UC. Lousy work... always gets in the way of more important things!

10-26-2005, 04:56 PM
Because of work, I'm going to keep it pretty toned down. However, I can't wait to crack the 3 bottles of chilled Moet with Mrs. Risk after the White Sox utterly destroy that whiny, mustached jag bag Garner's joke of a team based in the most polluted city in America.:D:

Only the best for occassions such as this.

10-26-2005, 05:02 PM
I got a can of Buckhorn in the fridge.

Amen. Reading that almost made me lose it. THis will be a special night.

10-26-2005, 05:06 PM
Yelling "Don't stop..believing" through my halls. Then, probably watching every bit of postgame coverage I can get. Then, I don't know, sleep maybe. I'm under 21, so...

10-26-2005, 05:06 PM
Buckhorn ???? what about Falstaff:smile:

10-26-2005, 05:13 PM
Whooping it up at Dugan's with friends and strangers alike.

Then it's home to crack open a bottle of moderately expensive champagne and herf on a very large smelly cigar.

10-26-2005, 05:18 PM
I'm taking the wilkes' approach, just with the college budget... Since the car didn't look like it wanted to cooperate with going to and for Chicago tonight, I'll be spending my time at a seedy little place here in Peoria, to come home to a bottle of cheap ass champagne and cheap ass cigars.

10-26-2005, 05:22 PM
I plan on being so happy that the only way I can express it is by flipping over cars and setting things ablaze:tongue:

I'll see you there!!!!!

Starting out at Bourbon Street and then would head up to Bridgeport till about 3 or so then go out to Midway and wait for them to come in. Thats our plan for tonight. My Sunday is tomorrow (I work weekends) so this would be perfect for me if they won today.

I've got three mini-bottles of Cook's champaign in the fridge. I bought them the morning of the clincher in Detroit; I bought them the day of the AL Pennant clincher in Anaheim; I bought them this afternoon.

I'll be at Puffers whooping it up with many hardcore Sox fans (several from right here at the great WSI). We'll most likely do the mandatory 35th Street March to Grandstand to get WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP GEAR!!!

10-26-2005, 05:43 PM
With my family in CT and thinking of my 'adoptive ones' in Chicago. What a great ride after 45 years, I finally might be able to sip champagne from the golden cup. Thanks WSI for letting me be a part of something very special.

10-26-2005, 05:59 PM
Steaks on the grill, some great wine and champagne, toast the fans that are no longer with us, dance with my wife to various White Sox fight songs, watch about 3-4 hours of post game stuff, call my family and friends.

Walk outside about 3am...look to the sky and say: Thank you.

10-26-2005, 06:16 PM

I'm pretty sure the teal was clearly implied:wink:

10-26-2005, 06:22 PM
I've cleared my schedule for the next three days, leading the way into a huge bender :gulp:

I may go MIA also. :bandance:

10-26-2005, 06:23 PM
Hanging at the local Sox bar with a small but select group of White Sox FANatics, after which I will return home, crack open the champagne, pet Sniffy and Corky--my two Sox fan beagles--and possibly hit the hot tub, if I think I can do so without drowning!

10-26-2005, 06:26 PM
I'm at home, ready to down alot of Heineken's. I probably jump around my apartment alot and shout.:bandance:

10-26-2005, 08:13 PM
The bottle of champagne is currently chilling ... anyone know how to get champagne stains out of the carpet??? :D:

10-26-2005, 08:20 PM
we drank most of the beer here at the house last night, we'll probably have to hit the wine and champaigne fridge tonight as the beer will not likely last past the first Sox lead

10-26-2005, 11:50 PM
My pre game meal was a mushroom swiss burger from burger king. Had some friends over. After the game we had 3 knocks on the door from being to loud. Sure we will get a lease violation tomorrow on our door. It will be well worth it.

10-26-2005, 11:55 PM
I celebrated with 20-25 friends and buddies, drank a few beers, and I know I can celebrate this for many years to come.

10-27-2005, 12:12 AM
I popped open a bottle of champagne we were given as a wedding gift. I told my wife I wanted to save it for a special occassion! Thankfully she understands!
