I know that Ozzie insinuated that Dye would be in right field for all three games, but does anybody know for sure?

He's said on more than 1 occasion that Carl's sitting. Dye's in right. You'll probably see Carl pinch hitting if the situation calls for it.

I know that Ozzie insinuated that Dye would be in right field for all three games, but does anybody know for sure?

In 2005:

OPS: Dye .846, Everett . 745
SLG: Dye .512, Everett . 435
AVG: Dye .274, Everett .251

Everett has more RBIs in fewer ABs, but that has more to do with Everett batting third most of the year while Dye batted sixth most of the year. Also, in the playoffs, Dye has shown he's much better at taking pitches than Everett.

Also, Dye is a vastly superior defender who can cover more ground with a better arm and has much better speed on the basepaths than Everett. Dye is a threat to steal a base. Everett is a threat to get thrown out while trying to take an extra base.

Unless Ozzie wants to do the Astros any favors, or if Everett has incredible stats against Houston's starter in any one game, he would be foolish to bench Dye in favor of Everett.

I think it's safe to say that we will see the same lineup, save Everett, with everyone below Everett moving up one spot.

AJ is 5 for 8 against Oswalt. I think I'd leave him.

You know, some of you guys make fun of the way ozzies does the lineups during the season when we had the big lead, and everyone just complained like it was their J. O. B. that ozuna was playing again, or that timo was leading off...

Well, the sox are two wins away, and I don't doubt that at least part of this is because they were rested coming down the stretch into the final push for the postseason.

I also don't doubt the sox are doing so well because they were pushed in august and september. Some of you may remember me saying that I didn't want the sox to have a big lead going into the playoffs, but i didn't want them to tank it either. Well, the perfect thing happened. Cleveland played lights out.

Sox lineup:

Podsednik LF
Iguchi 2B
Dye RF
Konerko 1B
Pierzynski C
Rowand CF
Crede 3B
Uribe SS
Garland P

Apparently, Kruk suggested to Ozzie to have the lefty AJ bat 5th to protect Konerko...

What NO BLUM.......are you crazy??

Blum is in for Gload -- since Gload is not on the WS roster. But otherwise it looks good to me.

BTW, I am getting together with another Sox fan out here in DC and the last time we met at tonight's watering hole was the scrubs game against the Indians. So with all that on our side, I say run with it.

(TEAL OPTIONAL)

Since Gload is not on the playoff roster, I say Blum in for Gload. Unless, of course, we want to activate Tony Muser.
