I wanted to look at the pictures from the game on CBSSportsline.com, but there are no pictures from game 1 in the gallery yet. This is weird because they normally post them just after the game ends. It was over 2 and a half hours ago. There are a few small pictures to navigate through on the main page, but the gallery pictures are not there.

ESPN.com always has pictures from every game, also. Normally when you look at the box score, there is a tab on the far right that says "photos". That tab is gone.

Does anybody know if MLB has a rule that no other websites can show images of world series games? It is strange that no pictures are up on either site. If anyone knows of AP images posted online, please post it. Maybe there is another link to them on those pages, but I cant find it.

As I said, if anyone knows online galleries other than the crappy MLB.com one, please post it here.

There's a picture of your friendly neighborhood Realist on ESPN's World Series page. I'm in the lower left hand corner in the picture of the girl holding up the "RESPECT" sign.

Where, Realist?

On ESPN it just says "no photos available at this time." But I'm probably looking in the wrong place?

I found the thumb, but all the faces are pretty small in it. It's right on the front page of the MLB section.

Who writes these captions? One picture of AJP and Widger has a caption calling Widger, "Jon Garland."

A caption on page 9 of 31 says: "Chicagoans pass the city's famous Picasso statue Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, decorated by the city with a Chicago White Sox cap to mark the South Side's team advancement to the World Series for the first time since 1945."

Uh, try 1959. The Cubs last pennant was in 1945.

I haven't been reading all of these captions, but this one on page 19 I did:

"Chicago White Sox's Freddy Garcia, left, Juan Uribe, center, and Aaron Rowand celebrate after Rowand scored on a sacrifice fly by Joe Crede in the second inning against the Los Angeles Angels during Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in Anaheim, Calif., Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005."

That's not Freddy Garcia, that's a freaking batboy. A dead giveaway would be that he's wearing a helmet. Freddy Garcia wouldn't be wearing a helmet in the ALCS.

Yeah. It's a small thumb picture on that page. A girl I work with saved it and then enlarged it. There I was all smiley and clapping. The pic was taken after the game just ended. Smiling and clapping are very cool in late October!

:bandance:

[p.s. the girl holding the RESPECT sign is truly a die hard Sox fan. She's been sitting in those seats all year long and claps and cheers on every one of the Sox players.]

Some more shots from Game 1 (Living Large!) I love the shot of Jermaine Dye diving back in safely from the pick off attempt in the 7th inning.

These are my pics from game 1 and from the Boston series.

http://2005wschamps.shutterfly.com/action/

Enjoy

If you want you can order them from Shutterfly. They do a great job printing them.

NOTE: If anyone has any feedback on the pics, I'd appreciate that. And if anyone actually edits of manipulates the pics before ordering them, please let me know. I'd like to see how people photoshop my stuff. These are raw and unedited photos. (For the WS Game 1 I was sitting in 164, row 5 and for games 1 and 2 of Boston, I was in the UD in the back half, between 1st and the foul pole - so that's the perspectives I had to work with.
