It seems the mayor of Houston is calling on Texans to not wear socks over the weekend.

In response to this, I would like to suggest that White Sox fans everywhere refrain from space travel and other astrological research during the World Series.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Do they wear socks? When I was in San Diego last week, it was sandals everyday.

Does this mean the Astros themsleves won't be wearing socks? :o:

I think it's cute and funny. Bill White is one of the real good guy mayors in America. Of course, I hope it's for naught.

I don't understand why they wouldn't go for the whole series. Why just the weekend????? Must mess up their boots or something.

"Well, I'm glad you asked this, Val. Personally, although I don't consider myself a Houstonite by any means, I do enjoy refraining from Sock-usage. And when I mean Sock-usage, I'm not talking about Chicago White Sox-usage, but instead...."

In response to this, I think all Chicagoans should not drive any Astro minivans throughout the weekend. Band together and take the compact car for the next three days.

In an ironic twist of fate, my ASTROloger says "Chicago in 6".

I think it shows that Houston is the only other city (besides Chicago) that actually knows who the real sox are. No color specification needed--the know sox means white. :)

Oh it's on like Donkey Kong now. Well I heard Houstonions have really smelly feet so I bet their plan is going to backfire.

lol... if the nice folks in Texas want to wear sandals to show the world the quality of their toe-jam, that's okay by me. :D:

BTW, ZZ-Top has a song titled "Heaven, Hell, or Houston"... hey, they ought to know.

"That's funny you mention that. I talked to the mayor before the game - one of the all-around good guys in the city. Anyway, and there's a called strike by Bakke. Looked outside, didn't it John? There's AJ telling the ump, 'Hey, I want that call for my guy too.' I talked to the mayor of Houston and he remembers me from my days with the Phillies..."
