What would be cool is if there was a picture of "The Four Horseman" takes on "The Three Amigos"(Clemens,Petitte,Oswalt). A nice theme for the World Series.

"Outlined against a blue, gray October sky the Four Horsemen rode again.
In dramatic lore they are known as famine, pestilence, destruction and death. These are only aliases. Their real names are: Buehrle, Garcia, Garland and Contreras. They formed the crest of the Chicago cyclone before which another fighting Houston team was swept over the precipice at the Cell this afternoon as 40,615 spectators peered down upon the bewildering panorama spread out upon the green diamond below."

Was it intentional to showcase the four Sox uniforms, or did it just work out that way?

Nice catch! Now, there is ONE more design twist - but far more subtle.

I'm not an very knowledgeable about this, so I couldn't tell you which is which, but based on their grips it looks like they're throwing four different kinds of pitches.

The pitchers' heads are aligned with the riders' heads or the horses' heads?

I'll take a stab at the pitches...

Buehrle: 4-seamer
Freddie: Slider?
Garland: 2-seamer (cant really tell?)
Contreras: Change

I also am not good at this, I just like to try

Ironic that it was a sports editor of the Chicago Tribune that made the term "the four horsemen" such a popular phrase of the day.
I love irony.

This is very poetic. However when I was in school if you quoted somebody and didn't give him credit it was called plagiarism. Anybody ever heard of Grantland Rice?

I had heard that the last time there were 4 complete games in a row in postseason was the 1958 Yankees, and the last time that the 4 games were all won was the 1928 Yankees. Today I read somewhere that the last time four different pitchers threw 4 complete postseason games in a row was the 1907 Cubs!

Of course I have, I just assumed everyone would know that I was adapting it from the famous article about ND and didn't write it myself. And I guess I should have also changed afternoon to night.
