Brooks Boyer was just on a segment called hit and run on the score, and stated that he is trying to do something regarding a place for Sox fans to watch the away games of the World Series. He said that using U.S. Cellular has many problems, mainly weather, but something is in the works, and it will be announced tomorrow in a press release on whitesox.com.

The host of the show said, "Well if your'e not going to open the Cell what would it be?" Brooks change the subject and reiterated that it would be announced tomorrow. He said it is a "surprise" Anyone speculate?

GO SOX!!!!

the UC would be the best, but if the bulls are home I guess not(unless Jerry politely asks his 'other' team to step aside). The allstate is too far from downtown for me, what other options are out there?

Soldier Field using the jumbotrons. They have had movie-nights there for families. Plus after this Sunday, the Bears don't play there until November 13th.

The main problem is weather...aka they want to do it inside. How would Soldier Field make a difference?

yessssssss

I can't imagine the organzation holding it somewhere without beer, or somewhere outside of the city. Far too much $$$ to be made.

UIC doesn't. I've been to concerts there and it sucks.

Yeah.... but same issue... it's outside.

I have to believe we're talking about an indoor facility.

The UC and Allstate are the likely candidates....

I don't think Soldier field would be smart, bad weather or not. Wherever it is, Brooks would want the place to be packed and rocking. Soldier field might resemble the Cell during a cold afternoon game in April.

when's the announcement?

Silvy & Carmen just announced on their show that Games 4 & 5 will be broadcast at the United Center- there's a Bulls pre-season game on Tuesday, preventing Game 3 from being shown there. I think they said it costs $15 to get in and the proceeds are going to be divided between the Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks charities. They said they got a press release about this, but as of right now, there isn't a link available on the Sox homepage.

Brooks is going to be on their show within the next 15 minutes, so I'm sure more information will be available soon.

I'd love to be able to celebrate with thousands of other Sox fans. And then when the celebration spills out onto the streets.. it would be unreal!!
