A guy at work today was telling me that Astros Pitcher Roger Clemens mother Bess mentioned Shoeless Joe Jackson on her deathbed in her final moments before passing away a couple of months ago.

I got goosebumps as he told me this. I found the following on a website after doing an Internet search.
****************************************

In her final hours, she was talking baseball. Clemens said his mother asked if the Astros had made the playoffs yet, inquired about Andy Pettitte (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5331) and more than once mentioned Shoeless Joe Jackson.

"I asked her if she was in the fields, and she said I think I am," Clemens said. "She just loves the game of baseball."

Clemens talked about after the game Weds. It was reported that she also said the 'Stros would meet the White Sox in the WS and the Sox would win!

There's a thread about it here

I heard it from the FOX announcers, she said it 3 times. The real chilling part for me was when she also said Roger would win that night's game (he was pitching that night) 10-2, and that ended up being the final score

I heard this story from announcers & then I heard Clemens say it too & the part about the 10-2 game winner. Never heard who she said would win this years World Series though.

Does she have any thoughts about the over 71 in the Northwestern-Michigan State game?

I thought I heard that she never said who would win the WS--just who would be in it. Eerie about how she predicted the 10-2 Astro win.

 Roger Clemens and his mother are both starting to annoy me. Nice to see the Sox give him his beatdown last night.
