Does anybody know anything about this

The flamboyant, the irrepressible, the innovative Veeck, who died at age 71 on Jan. 2, 1986, is being honored in absentia this week with the return of the White Sox to the World Series for the first time since 1959, his first year as the majority owner. (The Sox, making their first Series appearance in 40 years, lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/sports/baseball/majorleague/losangelesdodgers/index.html?inline=nyt-org) in six games.)

from this: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/20/sports/baseball/20veeck.html?adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1129813221-0s6V50NUwk0LmB878HKDeg?

Who's doing the "honoring"? Berkow and the NYT?

It'd be great if the two most recent Hall of Famers from the South Side (Veeck and Fisk, no?) were both officially "honored" this week, but that may be merely my opinion . . .
