I don't like this trade because I don't like Erstad.
He has a marginal OBP of .350 - better than Singleton, but not that much better. No way do I trade a pitcher to rent him for one year.
On the other hand, Giles walks about 100 times a year and has a career obp in excess of .400. Plus he's signed at a reasonable price long term. He's the far superior choice.
