Just heard that Andy Shaw, Chicago ABC 7 News Personality, native Chicagoan, and life-long White Sox fan has made it through a preliminary round of interviewing for the open radio slot.

Throw him in the North and Dahl group of people interviewed for the sake of generating publicity.

I agree with 34.
There have been ex-ball players interviewed...It makes sense to bring in the analyst with experience..even though your pbp guy has experience as well.
Let us see where this goes...

Are you sure he is replacing John Rooney and not Andy Rooney?

On the plus side, Andy's daughters were quite hot back in high school. That was a while back though so who knows what they look like now.

He's not. My sources tell me it's Steve Lyons job if he wants it. Ron Kittle and John Cangelosi are the only other possibilites.
Take it for what it's worth.

I know someone very close to Andy who told me about it today. With that said, I hope you're right.
Andy Shaw doing the game? It's just weird. I couldn't believe it when I heard it either. Maybe they can get Lester Holt to do postgames.

I hope it's somebody with Baseball knowledge first.

Among my sources are one of the three listed names who are considered the finalists. Take it for what it's worth.

I don't know what he'd be like outside political reporting, though I'd trust the judgement of the team if he did get the job, which sounds like a longshot.
I like the idea of Kittle frankly, mostly because of the enthusiasim he would bring to the booth. Farmer has a tendency to get a bit low-key so I think you have to pair him with someone who brings a lot of excitement to the booth.

Good point! I would just hope Kittle wouldn't turn into our version of Santo.

Not the shaw man. Can't stand his voice.
Lou Piniella wants a job. Maybe we can trade pbp guys with Tampa so he can be the only person to be traded as a manager AND commentator

I don't think Kittle groans enough for that. Kittle would actually keep us up to date on what's going on.
