Good thing I have more than one comp, one keeps getting Ticketmaster errors. The other went from 14 min wait to 2 min wait, but it's been like that for a while

It will be tough though, as every Ticketmaster outlet in the country has had a busy signal since 5-10 minutes before noon (yes you can call any center in the country)

I started out with a 2 minute wait and never got in

All I get each time I look for tickets is a pace that say "We’re sorry, there was a problem processing your request. Please try again." I think that might mean sorry, we're out.

Same thing happened to me. I got one ticket reserved and then 5 seconds later it was like oooh i'm sorry you took too long, bitch! And then it actually reached out and smacked me in the face for effect. But seriously, it gave me 5 seconds to order my tickets.

Yeah, but so what? This isn't TM's first high-profile, high-demand event.

I understand that not everyone will get tickets. And in this case, very few will. But you should be able to reach the 'sorry, no tickets are available' message without running into a mess of errors. I'm not pissed that I didn't get tickets...I'm pissed that their errors preventing me, and most everyone else here, from even having a shot at those tickets.

You shouldn't lose the chance at tickets because:
a) the event page wouldn't load properly
b) the verification word didn't appear/only partly appeared/is completely illegible
c) "There was a problem processing your request. We apologize for any inconvenience. (0x100084)" errors randomly appear
d) You get an error message telling you that you have multiple windows open when you don't.
d) your credit card, which was in the TM system since you had an account, doesn't get correctly processed.
e) page timeouts

Their should have the capacity to handle this properly, and their technology should be able to handle this sort of demand without spitting out error messages. It's like they're only equipped to handle mid-April day games against the Royals.

Has anyone bothered to send them letters/emails of complaint before? What if we coordinated a group effort? Hundreds of unique letters lambasting them for their ill-equipped system? Anybody in?

I sent an email (like it will do any good), but a group effort from WSI might at least be recognized and addressed. They probably wouldn't do anything, but the only way to make them accountable is to somehow put pressure on them. They basically have a monopoly and they put out a ****y product. more from Samual Becket's Waiting for Godot:ESTRAGON: (restored to the horror of his situation). I was asleep! (Despairingly.) Why will you never let me sleep? VLADIMIR: I felt lonely. ESTRAGON: I had a dream. VLADIMIR: Don't tell me! ESTRAGON: I dreamt that— VLADIMIR: DON'T TELL ME! ESTRAGON: (gesture toward the universe). This one is enough for you? (Silence.) It's not nice of you, Didi. Who am I to tell my private nightmares to if I can't tell them to you? VLADIMIR: Let them remain private. You know I can't bear that. ESTRAGON: (coldly.) There are times when I wonder if it wouldn't be better for us to part. VLADIMIR: You wouldn't go far. ESTRAGON: That would be too bad, really too bad. (Pause.) Wouldn't it, Didi, be really too bad? (Pause.) When you think of the beauty of the way. (Pause.) And the goodness of the wayfarers. (Pause. Wheedling.) Wouldn't it, Didi? VLADIMIR: Calm yourself. ESTRAGON: (voluptuously.) Calm . . . calm . . . The English say cawm. (Pause.) You know the story of the Englishman in the brothel? VLADIMIR: Yes. ESTRAGON: Tell it to me. VLADIMIR: Ah stop it! ESTRAGON: An Englishman having drunk a little more than usual proceeds to a brothel. The bawd asks him if he wants a fair one, a dark one or a red-haired one. Go on. VLADIMIR: STOP IT! Exit Vladimir hurriedly. Estragon gets up and follows him as far as the limit of the stage. Gestures of Estragon like those of a spectator encouraging a pugilist. Enter Vladimir. He brushes past Estragon, crosses the stage with bowed head. Estragon takes a step towards him, halts. ESTRAGON: (gently.) You wanted to speak to me? (Silence. Estragon takes a step forward.) You had something to say to me? (Silence. Another step forward.) Didi . . . VLADIMIR: (without turning). I've nothing to say to you. ESTRAGON: (step forward). You're angry? (Silence. Step forward). Forgive me. (Silence. Step forward. Estragon lays his hand on Vladimir's shoulder.) Come, Didi. (Silence.) Give me your hand. (Vladimir half turns.) Embrace me! (Vladimir stiffens.) Don't be stubborn! (Vladimir softens. They embrace. # http://samuel-beckett.net/godot3.jpg

Estragon recoils.) You stink of garlic! VLADIMIR: It's for the kidneys. (Silence. Estragon looks attentively at the tree.) What do we do now? ESTRAGON: Wait. VLADIMIR: Yes, but while waiting. ESTRAGON: What about hanging ourselves? VLADIMIR: Hmm. It'd give us an erection. ESTRAGON: (highly excited). An erection! VLADIMIR: With all that follows. Where it falls mandrakes grow. That's why they shriek when you pull them up. Did you not know that? ESTRAGON: Let's hang ourselves immediately! VLADIMIR: From a bough? (They go towards the tree.) I wouldn't trust it. ESTRAGON: We can always try. </B>

I feel like Charlies from Willie Wonka & the Chocolate factory! I've got the golden ticket for game 2. There has to be a better way of distributing these tickets though. Well, I have a ticket worth well over a grand down the first base line, but there is no amount of money that can pry it out of my hands. If by chance I can't make it to the game a long time Friend and Sox fan will get it at face value.

It's the Southside of Chicago... they'd make him Handicapped right there at the gates and let him craw to his seat. With Doctors bills, pain, suffering and all the rehab on your knees it probably would hav ebeen cheaper to spring for some of those $3000 seats up in row 21 of Section 558.

I sent an email (like it will do any good), but a group effort from WSI might at least be recognized and addressed. They probably wouldn't do anything, but the only way to make them accountable is to somehow put pressure on them. They basically have a monopoly and they put out a ****y product. If we drafted one letter, then every member of WSI signed an individual copy and sent it in, they would at least take notice. I'm sure you would all get an automated response thanking you for your reply. I'm also sure they have the best equipment commercially available. There's nothing they can do about it.

New Idea....for those that are NOT going......do we want to try and hold a big old party for game one, three or four (or subsequent games to follow).

We find a bar and see if they'll do a rental for a big party.......

If anyone has ideas, it could be great....

I tried for game 7 asked for two upper deck tickets (all I could afford) and got through in five minutes no problems....

I did the same thing for the ALCS and got through in about the same amount of time no problem...

I figure if I'm going to pay that kind of money to go to a game...I want it to be a game that they can win the series in.

Obviously I hope that they win before a game seven and that I don't get to go...but than again if it goes to a 7th game...I have tickets.

I realized that most people are starting with games one and two because they know that they will be played...so I avoided those and went to what I thought less people would be trying for right when they went on sell.

I hate to say it, but we should adopt a Cubs like system for distributing these tickets. NO, not by having the Sox scalp them to us - but by in-person lottery.

You gotta go to the park, you get a bracelet, and your number gets drawn. pure and simple. No BS Ticketmaster scam jobs, no banks of scalper computers scooping up all the tickets.

I went to 33 regular season games and 2 playoff games so far, and I got bupkus. Instead, some corporate buttwipe who probably loves the Cubs will be sitting on his hands in my place.

I got real lucky....4 tix to game 1....500 level mid-teen row. I called TM most of the a.m....just checking the phone lines, so to speak ;-) At @ 11:15 I got through and basically just stayed on the line...hitting #2 button, repeating the same information over and over again (kept the office door shut). At 12:00, I hit * , and was sent to a representative. At first, they said a 10 min. wait, which pretty much was an obit; however, a rep came on in 2 minutes (felt like 15), and I was able to snag 4. They are indeed nosebleed, but what the hell....in the HOUSE for HISTORY.

On a sadder note, our computer tech gal had a bank of 6 computers going... with no luck whatsoever. Two or three would go down to a minute..then pop back up in time or show the screen that everyone here has been talking about.

Like many posters here, I've dreamed of going to a White Sox World Series game ever since I was a kid. I never got the chance growing up in Chicago in the 60s and 70s. I moved away in the 80s, and even though the Sox made the playoffs a few times, my childhood dream never seemed possible.

Now I live in Florida, and with my job and kids of my own, I thought I was missing the opportunity of my lifetime. Plus, I don't have an extra 9 grand laying around for tickets.

Today, I found out my brother has 2 tickets to Game 1 and I'm coming home to see the White Sox in the World Series! I am truly the luckiest man on the face of the earth.

me and 3 other friends skipped work and school to be able to all try for tickets online and on the phone, with the idea being that if one person could by 4 tickets, we'd sell the other tickets to the other three people.

my little brother got 4, but the site was lagging badly (for obvious reasons) and it took more than two minutes to load the next page after he clicked "continue."

...and as a result he lost the tickets for waiting too long. i guess its not too late to figure out how to break into the ball park and hide somewhere with a view of the field.

ha ha, pop a wheelchair wheelie for me.

It's the World Series man, do what you gotta do.

You have to go in a wheelchair so rent one or borrow one from a friend. Wear jeans so they can't see your legs and maybe even put a blanket over your legs. You can justify the blanket because it's October.
