Jerry was crying when Jackie Autry presented the AL Pennant trophy and I just want to thank him for what he has done these past couple years. Kenny and Ozzie were home grown, and if it wasn't for their signings in the 80s, this year never would have happened. Have a cold one Uncle, and if we win the World Series, all past mistakes will be completely forgiven. :gulp::gulp::gulp::moonwalk: :moonwalk:

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

For as much flack this guy gets and some of it is absolutly deserving...he deserves a World Series appearence. You could tell this franchise means a lot to him and it was nice to see some emotion out of him. He was certaily choked up and had to take a lot of swalls as she presented that trophy.

I used to have an anti-Jerry Reinsdorf signature. I have seen the error in my ways. I love Jerry Reinsdorf. He is one of us.

Ditto! It's been 46 long years, but the wait was worth it. Congratulations to Jerry & Eddie, who 25 long years ago bought this team from Bill Veeck and changed it to a very respectable franchise.

I love the Sox, and I especially love this 2005 Wsox team! Good job J.R., Kenny, Ozzie, and the whole entire Wsox organization!!

Count me in! I've given JR plenty of flak for mistakes he's made, but I have to agree that he deserves plenty of attaboys for making this happen. He believed in Ken Williams and Ozzie Guillen and let them make the baseball decisions.

And here we are. Thanks, Jerry! :gulp:

Props to Jerry, but also to Kenny. Unbelievable job by KW. It's hard to overstate how well KW has done his job over the past few, especially given all the "geniuses" that get the headlines.

Agreed! Considering how close the Sox were to moving- including once under Reinsdorf- he has brought stability... and an AL Pennant!!!

Best. Owner. In. Chicago. History. Thank you Jerry, for putting this organization together, for sticking with the guys, and for making this happen.

One of the best in sports - if the Sox take the Series, how many owners will have titles in multiple sports?

Just one Jerry-related question...

If the Cardinals manage to get by the Astros, what the hell are they going to do with six NBA championships?

Jerry is the best owner in this town and has had his heart in the right place the past 25 years. Thank you Jerry!

Great post. He's made his mistakes...but always hung in there....I'd take him over the Tribune, the McCaskeys, Wirtz.....any day.

He is one of us.

Jerry, I hope that this pennant--and of course the Sox winning the World Series--more than makes up for your pain of the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn! Thanks for bringing us 6 NBA Champion trophies and thanks for bringing the chance for us longsuffering Sox fans to enjoy our first world championship since 1917. Winning this AL flag washes away the near misses of 1964, 1967, and 1983. And a World Series win will take care of 1959. Thanks for not moving the team to Tampa and sticking with the Bridgeport area. Let's win this for not only the city of Chicago and Sox players and fans past and present, but (as Ozzie said) for Jerry too!

Thanks Jerry. Not only have you given us 6 NBA Titles and the greatest basketball teams of all-time, but you have now delivered the most important thing in Chicago sports lore - a World Series appearance.

Jerry. You've made me very upset many times in the past, but thanks so much for this special season - and to your players as well. Thank you! God Bless the White Sox.

Congrats Jerry. If what you say is true...let this be the 1st of many WS victories worth cherishing more than NBA titles.

I know it's been written before, but just for the sake of those who didn't know: Jerry Reinsdorf is not THE owner of the White Sox, he is just AN owner. In fact, he is not even the majority owner of the Sox. The Sox are owned by a limited partnership, with Reinsdorf appointed as its Chairman, which means that he has the greatest decision-making authority of the partners as it regards the team. However, it is a misnomer to say that he is the owner of the Sox. Just thought I'd clarify...

Thank you Jerry, I used to be a critic of Reinsdorf, but he has proven he wants a winner and will work to get one.

The McCaskeys, Cubune, and Wirtz have a ton to learn from Reinsdorf.

He's mellowed over the years. Compare him during the celebration yesterday to his vindictive little tirade against Harry and Jimmy in the clubhouse in 1983. I like this vrsion much better. Congratulations, Chairman.

I've been as hard on JR as anyone through the years. Recently I have decided to tone it down and see if the changes he made in personell, increased expenditures and otherwise will make a difference. Clearly they have.

Congratulations, JR and thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have made me very happy today and hopefully in another week+, I will be even happier.

You think he isn't happy today.

Just one Jerry-related question...

If the Cardinals manage to get by the Astros, what the hell are they going to do with six NBA championships?

On Mike and MIke ESPN they were talking about JR giving up all the NBA championships for one WS. I think it was an Ozzie quote, but I was almost up all night so I was half awake when I heard it :) I give props to JR for the Bulls first, and now, more than ever, for the Sox. I didn't realize he cared so much until last night. Props also to KW. This organization rocks!
