Our pitching staff rules. I love the attitude that this team is playing with.

Also, kudos to Ozzie for NOT using the bullpen. In the event we need the bullpen over the next few days, it'll be relatively new to the Angels lineup.

Why does anyone listen to Fox? Mute TV and listen to ESPN AM 1000 with John and Ed!!!

Great game by Garcia. Podsednik's speed looks like it is back. Konerko earned a couple of million over the life of the contract tonight - 4 HRs in 7 Games!!!

Rowand finally got a hit.

Santana was not the same pitcher we faced in May. Guerrero looks injured. The Angels look like the walking dead. Kotchman was their only good hitter tonight - A big part due to our pitching!!!

We should have won Game 1 and swept this team. Lets win tomorrow and set the air raid sirens off!!!

Go White Sox!!!

Awesome game by Freddy and much of our offense. Great patience at the plate, allowing Anaheim's medicore pitching to shine through.

Screw the "bad calls" angle, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Unless those calls added up to 6 runs or more, ****.

And now the wait begins. Is tomorrow the day the Sox return to the World Series?

Seeing how well they play on the road, I'd like to see them end the series quickly. Huston, and St. Louis are in for another dog fight, and I'd like nothing more than to see the winner stagger into Chicago for game one against a well rested pitching staff.

They got three kick butt comlplete games, which means that they got three pitchers that could use an extra day to rest. At least that's the way I see it.

A good day today: Decatur Beer Festival, and a WS win. Gonna sleep like a baby tonight!

Tough loss for the Angels.

Frigging umpire pitched another nine inning gem. Frigging umpire slapped the ball into fair territory with men in scoring position. Frigging umpire crushed the ball for a first inning, three run shot that produced enough runs to win the game.

These umpires sure are a tough team to beat.

Worse is being a Cubbie fan. Anyone wanna disagree?

Nope. But here's a neat story. Channel 7 News was in Anaheim for the grand opening of Portillo's West somewhere in the L.A. area. Even Dick Portillo himself was there to celebrate. He says there were about 50 people waiting outside the doors when the place opened, including folks from Chicago excited about the Sox. The funniest part was a Cub fan from Schaumburg was quoted on TV saying, "For Chicago, this (the Sox getting to the WS) is a great thing. But as a Cub fan, I hope the Sox lose."

You could tell even with his smile he was in pain. Just think...a south side appearance is the biggest series of all.

Anyone here who works with any sort of travel (plane, train, bus, etc.)...check to make sure a Mr. Steven Bartman isn't on any travel logs heading to southern California before tomorrow night's game. Or someone check his family tree to make sure any relatives don't get tickets to the game, either.

If he runs all out, the Angels get the run, and while there might be less of an opportunity for a big inning, the Angels needed any run they could get.

If CI is called, the bases are loaded, maybe they get an RBI groundout and another out and they get only 1 run anyways. The big inning is more of a possiblity, but they also may have gotten no runs.

The worst case scenario for the Angels is what happened--Finley running halfway. So yes you can blame it on him.

For some reason these lyrics by Pell Mell and the Bleacher Boys keep running through my head. They just kind of fit this club:

Come with me to the South Side of Chicago
That's where the Sox play
Come out, come out, come out today
Those Sox won't let you down
We love them in our town
Come with me to the South Side of Chicago

We're all behind you
We know that you'll come through
The Sox are hot today
On top you've gotta stay

Come with me to the South Side of Chicago
And you'll feel, too, just like we all do
We've got our fingers crossed for you
'Cause you're champs through and through
So come with me to the South Side of Chicago

Angels played without heart tonight. They looked like

:corpseball

Vlad Guerrero and Benji Molina look to be hurt.

Freddie pitched well, but more importantly, gave birth to a child a couple days ago. (God bless the baby and family).

What was with the bend on Freddie's hat tonight? Ugly.

Podsednik is playing at his peak, leading off the game by working a walk, swiping two bases, scoring two runs, and finishing off with a triple.

Konerko gives us another first inning lead, today by hitting a three-run home run. I'm toasting you Paulie; you're the man.

Crede's been a different hitter since coming off the DL. I never thought much of that guy, and thought his defense was overrated, but I have to give that guy his respect now because he's showing up when we most need him.

Did Pierzynski catch Finley's bat intentionally? You never know with that guy.

One win from the World Series. :o:
This pleases me.

It looked like he was pacing and yelling today too. In fact, it seemed like the whole team was getting upset on every strike 3. After Scoscia (sp?) mentioned how they put it past them in the game 2 postgame, I thought they actually would have. Instead, they've been bitching about the "unfair umpiring" all weekend and it seems to have taken them out of their game.

Gospel.

Our pal Phil Rogers just checked in his new article to the Trib, appropriately titled "Angels' only series edge is in whining"

About the only thing they haven't done is gripe about an umpire's strike zone before a game, as St. Louis' Tony La Russa did on Saturday in Houston. The Angels better give it a rest and get Vladimir Guerrero and another hitter or two going before they have to hire Gilbert Gottfried to narrate their playoff highlight DVD.

There's a feeling in Anaheim that the umpires somehow are stealing this series. That's dead wrong.

His right toe clicked the bag as he was releasing the ball. Unfortunately, the bitches at Fox wouldn't show the entire replay. Yes, when he caught the ball, his feet weren't on the bag....but he touched it when he threw. The replays they showed would always stop before the throw.

Pay no attention to Mike, he is a good guy but a very confused person. He lived in Detroit until he was 11 and in addition to being a Cub fan he is a Red Wing fan and an Eagles fan, he also likes to tell everyone he is Italian even though he is Irish and Mexican..:dunno: It will be a fun phone call tomorrow when the Sox clinch a WS spot. My brother was there as well but chose not to be on camera. He called me this afternoon to tell me I had to watch the channel 7 news tonight because Mike was going to be on and I figured he was at the game on Friday and got kicked out and arrested for arguing with the players(it would not be the first time he got kicked out of Angel stadium). I told him he needs to put on a White Sox hat and represent. Angel fans are not taking things too well. Next time I am out there I will have to bring along some Sox gear.

Hats off to Ozzie for making a statement with the three consecutive CGs. While the wankers at Fox were sitting there wondering aloud at "why wouldn't he want to give the bullpen some work" and no doubt jerking about the fact that Mariano Rivera isn't part of the equation here...Ozzie knew he was sending a serious message to whoever comes down the road, for the moment to "The Angels [from the Spanish: Los Angeles] Angels of Anaheim". Hope to see some fellow Sox fans at the stadium tomorrow night...I'm planning to make the drive up from San Diego to hear how quiet Disneyland and environs can be.

I love the karma of this series!

In our first series this year, the Angels wouldn't give us the courtesy of a day game on getaway day, knowing we had a day game in Texas the next day.

So the Yankees force them to a fifth game and they have to travel from NYC to Anaheim to Chicago within 48 hours. Perfect.

And if memory serves, we blamed at least one of those two losses in Anaheim on bad umpiring.

I think I was the most pissed when Pods stole his second base, and the call could've gone either way. McCarver said something like, "Well, you can add that one to the list." So he's keeping a list of all the reasons the Sox should be losing? He ought to apply for a job with the Cubune.

Sometimes this doesn't seem real to me.I mean the White Sox are playing perfect post-season baseball.
I can't remember when i've seen more dominant starting pitching in an ALCS.I think that all the media guys just don't know how to handle this and thats why they jump on the umps so often.
I guess the old adage,'Great pitching beats great hitting" is true especially when every starter has All of their pitches working and their command and control are almost perfect..

This pitching is unreal. Just unreal. I know the Angels offense sucks, but our pitching has just been great.

I haven't read a lot of the posts in the Clubhouse yet, but I'm sure there is probably more discussion about the crappy umpiring yesterday. Those umpires were awful. They blew at least 3 calls, but I don't want to hear about that costing the Angels. Did anyone see the Angels do anything out there yesterday that would make you think they would have won even if all three of those calls went their way. I sure didn't. They were bad and we were simply a lot better, bad umpire calls or not.

Great game, Freddy! You gotta love these first innings blasts from Paulie! :bandance: :bandance: :bandance:

The Chicago White Sox are one win away from the World Series. I've been saying this to myself since we won and I still can't believe it. Anyone else feel like this? I just can't believe we're away one win away from the World Series. I'm getting goosebumps again. :bandance:

Daniel Son: Mr. Miyagi, teach me how to sweep.

Mr. Miyagi: Patience my son. Not until we face the National League.

Look for Contreras to give up 1 run on six hits walking none striking out seven!
Jenks will close it out and we will head to the WS with a final score 5-1. We Sox fans can make bold predictions, we don't have Woods, Prior or Clement on our staff.......Ex-cub factor.....Clement, Paul(3 games for Cubs).
