I want him to pitch, not only will the game be quick...we have rocked him this year.

Did the happen to mention who might go in his place, if this is the case?

This sounds bad, but I would rather see Washburn than some nobody who will be riding high on adrenaline to throw the Sox off guard.

Who would throw if Washburn is out? Kevin Gregg?

Gregg's the name I heard who would replace anyone needing a day off. Hopefully Washburn will pitch and get shelled and they'll use Gregg next time. Best-case-scenario I think.

The Angels are living dangerously if Washburn's health isn't that good. IMO, there's no reason for them to lose Washburn to a poor start if he's still sick. If I was the Angels, I guess I would start Gregg today and then push back Lackey and/or Santana for a healthy Washburn.

But they can do whatever they like. More runs for us.

If it wasn't for his error in the 1st, he would be up one to zero. The way the Sox are swinging the bats here, Washburn looks like Sandy Koufax. Then again, Nancy Faust could beat these inept hitters.

Oh well, it was a good run.

For a guy that was really sick, Washburn threw a hell of a half of a game. He deserves some credit for keeping the Angels in it just long enough to get to their very good bullpen.

McCarthy is replacing El Duque.

Someone would have to be left out, but I think Washburn would be an absolutely perfect match for the sox. Anyway, maybe a topic better left for November.
