The loudspeaker music at the cell has become a complete buzzkill. The playoff crowd is plenty raucous. If anything, the music between pitches kills the mood. It's like a monkey up there hitting random keys. For example, the crowd was chanting "TADAHITO" and getting into the action but the music would play something completely unrelated and drown out the chant. It's absurd. Also, why start those stupid neon lights under the upper deck while our hitters are up. why? we're all into the god damn game give it a f!@#in break. Please tell me everybody agrees. Please make it stop.

I didnt think it was a big deal, sometimes the little cues help the crowd get back in it. I didnt really ahve a problem with any of it, a lot of the lets go white sox and insert random player calls seemed to carry over any of that stuff in my section. I think better play by the offense would have allowed the crowd to stay in it, I am not really gonna blame the music.

I could do without the Bon Jovi and Journey "dream" songs when we're down 1 run. I've also had my fill of Solo and the Pride Crew for the rest of my existence.

I've always thought the canned music gets in the way. The Pride Crew is painfull- minor league stuff.

I wouldn't try to avoid the language filter if I were you. Just type the "F" word in, and the filter will replace it with asterisks.
The mods don't take kindly to bypassing the filters; just FYI.:D:

Please, lose the annoying 'Journey" crap. Especially in the 9th inning while we're batting. Considering how it makes me cringe, it couldn't have helped the hitters concentration.

The music last night was horrendous and distracting. I mentioned to my wife a few times as well. The crowd was loud and filling-in with chants that went along with the flow of the game, then they'd blast some horrendous song from the 80's to quell the chant or vibe all together. Really a bad idea.

That's what it seemed like on TV and what I mentioned in another thread - there were no player chants during at bats, which surprised me. But maybe this music b.s. explains it. I wish this message could get to Sox brass ASAP.

The Pride Crew is totally bush league.
At least during the season, there was one of the Crew who raised a few few eyebrows!! (You guys--sorry ladies--know who I mean!!)
But now they are totally a joke!
What I miss is the "Get Up Guy" from 2000 (Dan)--He at least fired up the fans!!
Last night, the music ques really sucked!!
All I can say is...We need to really get pumped and fired up tonight.
I know a lot of you listened to the 'Post Game Show" and the references to the crowd...Well, I for one, and most of the folks hanging out on the concourse around Sec. 101/102, were really disturbed by the lack of fans getting fired up!
Hey, we tried!!
The Divison games were a lot more thunderous!!
And one more thing....What about the idiot throwing the ball back on Anderson's home run (and the morons in Sec. 107 yelling at him to "Throw it back!!).
Man, what happened to tradition?
Anyway, tonight the Sox take another step forward and a WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

I went to game 1 of the ALDS, it was leaps and bounds more energetic, maybe understandable due to the action on the field, but I was a bit dissapointed last night. When the moron threw the ball back onto the field I cringed and felt like the night was cursed. I hope that dude got thrown out of the game.

I know this seems crazy, but how about letting Nancy bang away a few tunes on the organ. And when the crowd starts chanting Nancy can enhance it on the organ. I dont need to hear Who Let the Dogs Out or other similiar intellectual pornography to get excited, especially during the playoffs.

And whats with the living on a prayer garbage? Is that what the game has come to? We have no shot to win constructivley so we have to live on a prayer to win? Not to mention no one but 15 year old girls who dont even kow who Bon Jovi is are the only ones who can hit the notes anyway..

Its SO friggin lame.

At times I feel like I'm at a lame 80's nightclub...

Hey new thread... Defunct 80's dance bars.... :dtroll:

Dan's a good guy. He's just an emotional guy who bleeds Balck/SIlver like the rest of us. At least he's involved. We all knew it would happen but I saw a lot of shirt/ties at the game last night. Standing & cheering looked like it would take away from time spent on their Blackberries.

You must have been in a different section than I was. Since pretty much everyone around me had on Sox gear and was about as loud as one could hope for on a cold rainy night where the Sox are playing like a bunch of 6 year olds waiting for their orange slices after the game.

The most "cheesy" music are these clowns they put on the field before the game - Are they WB or OC bands are some other garbage. That National Anthem tonight was a debacle.

Let honor real acts and singers and stop with the garbage.

When the crowd sings "It doesn't matter if we make it or not" I want to vomit. I hated that stupid song when it came out, and I still hate it. Those are very un-Sox fan lyrics.

I agree that sometimes the music is drowing out and killing a natural crowd reaction.

Also, the Chevy Pride Crew has to stop IMMEDIATELY. I recall in Game 1 that the crowd noise was swelling as Iguchi began to jog out to his position after jacking his home run only to be stopped dead in its tracks as Gene Honda introduced the "Pride" Crew.

The crew is an embarrassment during the playoffs. The crowd is into every pitch. The LAST thing that's needed is some artificial cheering for cheap t-shirts.

The music has been effective at times, but extremely inappropriate at other times. "Living on a Prayer" is the worst. It doesn't relate to us or the situation at all.
