I could be wrong and I've been wrong many times. But I want to drink a jug of Kool-Aid and predict that this is the WS year. Not only I'll predict that the WS will win the Worls Series this year but they will do it by sweeping the Yankees in 4 and sweep the Cardinals in 4 also.
By now you all probably think that I lost it and drank too much KoolAid. :D:
Hey, what the heck. What's the fun in predicting and noone knows about it. Actually, I have this notion that the WS will sweep Boston even before the series and I didn't tel anyone but heck why not do it now and step out on a ledge. :bandance:

Anyway, what are your bold predictions ? And by the time it's all over, we'll come back to this thread and see who is right.

I won't even bother to think about the WS. Call it the "jink factor," call it not thinking about the next opponent until you've dispatched the one in front of you, the WS is sort of off my radar screen for now.

Next round? If it's the Yanks, Sox in 6. Angels, Sox in 7.

BTW, what's your accuracy rate in previous predictions?

It would be nice if we could run the table throughout the playoffs. I don't want to imagine what this place would be like after a playoff loss.

Not good. :D: About 25 %.

We need to go 8-6 and we can win it all.

That's an excellent way to look at it.

Of course, add to that "close" margin, the Sox's penchant for close games, we'll all have ulcers, gray hair, and general nervous breakdowns by the time it's over.

But what a way to go!

Anyone recall the last team to sweep through the playoffs in the division series era? Has anyone even done it? I was wondering but didn't want to look if someone knew offhand.

I don't think the Spanks are going to make it. I hope they do, because we coud beat them in 4 or 5, but the Angels will give us a run for our money.

Never been done, but the Yankees did win about 12 or 13, 14? straight playoff games in the late 1990's, maybe 98-99. And I believe they won 16 of 18 during that point.

I think the Cardinals will sweep the NLCS.

I will say that right now it feels like the sox will never lose another game, but its pretty crazy to expect that. However, if it did happen, I'd love to see the espn article about how 2005 was the year of the weakest teams in the history of baseball.

I was thinking, do you think that the Sox are playing ball better then they have all season?

If the Sox play the Yankees, I dont think the will have much more of a problem than they did with the Red Sox. The Angel would be tough, IMO.

And IF they do get to the Series and the Cards are there, I think that will be a very good series...at least 6 game series.
