By MICHAEL MORRISSEYBOSTON — Orlando Hernandez entered with the bases drunk. Because of his magnificent sixth-inning performance with zero margin for error, the White Sox exited Fenway Park on a champagne high.
BOSTON PUNCHED OUT BY EL DUQUE
BOSTON - After it was over, after El Duque did what his old Yankee teammates couldn't do last year - drive a stake through the heart of the Red Sox - he puffed on a victory cigar in front of the mound and sipped champagne as the last remaining Red Sox fans cheered him at Fenway Park. The White Sox celebration had spilled onto the field for a raucous team picture, and Orlando Hernandez lingered for a few minutes to enjoy the Division Series-sweeping 5-3 win over the Red Sox.

Cool Hernandez works his old magic (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2005/10/08/cool_hernandez_works_his_old_magic)
To think, Guillen's last roster decision for the AL Division Series came down to rookie righthander Brandon McCarthy, who had mesmerized the Red Sox in a late-season start, or ''El Duque," who hadn't pitched well and had been bounced from the starting rotation.
But Guillen figured he had a 36-year-old legend on his staff with postseason experience. Why not tap that experience?
Nice call.
