There has been no announcement on this at all. I think your friend is pulling your chain. Hawk is not doing any playoff games so maybe your friend heard that and drew the wrong conclusion?:?:

Hawk said earlier this year he will stop broadcasting sox games when it no longer hurts after a loss.

He's not going anywhere.

I should have expected my girlfriend to say something like that. She is a FLUBS fan for Christ sake. Thanks guys for claming me down.

She's probably confusing Hawk with Rooney who truly is leaving. She's a Flubs fan and ignorance is bliss. Try to love her in spite of her faults.

You would not have to be a Cubs fan to get excited over the notion of Hawk leaving. However, if Hawk were leaving he would not do it quietly. He would insist on it being the year of Hawk.

Rooney was on Cubune Live last night. I think she probably got her play by play guys mixed up. I don't think Hawk is going any where soon. But that is just my opinion.

Your girlfriend has just helped me with proving my theory that Cubs fans (especially females) are clueless idiots.

Did you just call his girlfriend an idiot? In some places those are fighting words.

I heard Hawk on Mike North the other morning and he said he was "leaving for Orlando after the season for a committment" he had previously scheduled. He said it pained him that he spent all season with the team but can't broadcast postseason games, and that he would be in town and in attendance I believe for any games after the first round.
Now let's kick some Red Cub ass!

We couldn't get lucky enough to have Ken Harrellson quit.

He can call my g/f an idiot if he wants. Or a Cubs fan (she is one).

I can understand his pain

Hawk just signed off for the season - since he won't be doing any more games until ST. He ended by saying something like "See you in Tuscon - Go Sox!" right after he called JR the best owner in baseball.

Hawk aint going anywhere.
