This is great news...

It will be a perfect start to the beginning of a great October

14 hours from now, Contreras will be finishing off a 1-2-3 top of the 1st

Great news for us (seeing Frank) and the media (ammunition for more negative stories).

I would rather see him homer the first pitch. A nice BP fastball down the middle as Frank delivers it to the bullpen via air-mail.

I got a feeling that the fan interest is what motivated the Sox to ask and Frank to agree. Thanks to those of you who spoke up and made it known how great it would be to see Big Frank at the game.

UNREAL! I have to get in the park early instead of having one more beer.

I hope this is just more of Brooks doing what the fans want. I couldn't be happier right now, well a game 1 win of course.

I'm already on my feet screaming loudly for the Big Hurt.
I'm sure that berman(that jerk) will have something insulting to say about one of the best right-hand hitters to ever play the game.
After i watch the tape,we'll see what he says and we might maybe make a sign for good ol chris.

Here's hoping that his presence on the bench will give this team even more motivation to go out and kick ass.

Great News.

I am glad the team is going out of their way to get the fans fired up and keep Frank involved.

Now if they can just create a special boot that will let him take some swings as a PH in the ALCS...

Aren't we just gonna expose his lack of arm strength?

I'm with everybody else in wishing Frank could be hitting as opposed to pitching, but great move to get Frank invloved. Now, Brooks, open up the park for away games!!!

I hope WGN shows a clip of Frank throwing out the first pitch. I want to see what kind of ovation he gets from the fans.

"The big hurt, who made this team choke by living up to his nickname, proved today just why he absolutely doesn't belong in the hall of fame while throwing out the first pitch of the playoff series and only hitting 50 MPH on the radar gun."

I hope he throws his knuckler.

True story:

After throwing a ball in a spring training game back in 1999, Frank had to get a cortizone shot in his right shoulder.

There must be something very wrong with it.
