These odds seem a little crazy. I wouldn't bet on NY to win the pennant if someone gave me the money.

As has been pointed out in a previous thread, sports-betting odds do not reflect the true odds of an event happening. Sports-betting odds reflect the amount of money (expected and actual) bet on the various outcomes that will lay the risk off the bookies and onto the players.

Well, the money is on us tomorrow, as we are a slight favorite in the odds as of right now.

Sure, I'm just a little surprised that public would be so high on this Yankees team.

The Angels are the favorite for the AL pennant. They were humiliated last year and they'd love some revenge. They are the most balanced team. On paper they are a lot like us. Great starting pitching. Strong bullpen. Great speed. Generally poor on-base percentage. But they have Vlad. And they really score in bunches.

I hope you meant to put that in teal.

When the public gets Yankees Yankees Yankees 24/7 from ESPN, how could they not think the Yankees are the favorites? ESPN builds up Rodriguez and Jeter, and really doesn't talk too much about the holes in that lineup and pitching.

Don't be surprised about the power of repeated propaganda and brainwashing. Critical thinking is not a high priority in this country.
