An agent's error just made a trade of Jeff Cirillo much more likely. Cirillo's agent didn't submit an 11-team no-trade list to the club by an agreed deadline, according to the Rocky Mountain News. That neglect essentially voided Cirillo's no-trade clause, making him available to be traded to any team that wants him.

Whoever trades for Cirillo will be mighty disappointed - he batted .266 away from Coors Field last season. He's a very average ballplayer who will get traded for a good one.

Cirrilo had a tough (lousy) year, but he is still a very fine ballplayer who I expect will bounce back. It sounds silly, but getting out of Colorado may be a good thing for him. Still, nobody should be duped into giving up a good player for him.

I'd go for that Clayton trade, though.
