Has there been any final word on our playoff roster? Did el Duque or B-Mac make the cut? Or was Luis not on the team? Thanks guys

I'll be really disapointed if Louis makes it over the duke or bmac.

It seems like it will be between BMac and El Duque. I'd go with BMac just for the fact he owned Boston in his one start against them.

Marte and Luis better both not be on the roster.

The Safe move would be to take Viz. and Orlando. No one will ever blame a manager for going with experiance in the playoffs.

Hopefully for us Ozzie continues his tradition of being ballsy instead of safe. Bmac and Orlando would be ballsy and the best for the team.

Marte and Luis better both not be on the roster. You're :smokin: if you don't think Ozzie will continue his infatuation with Marte and make him his 8th inning lefty specialist for the playoffs. He'll be on the roster.

I really hope McCarthy makes the roster as well. He'd be far more useful than Vizcaino and even El Duque.

The fact that McCarthy threw 100 pitches yesterday means he's unavailable until Friday. For that reason, I would go with Viz and El Duque.

If the Sox advance, they can re-rack their roster before the ALCS.

I think it is between Bmac & Vizcaino. Marte & El Duque seem safe to me!

We need Marte, he's a lefty...hopefully he can step it up. ON the other hand, Luis can say good bye, he's useless.

but that also means he will have a bullpen day either tuesday or wednesday. so we will effectively be losing him for only one game.

i watched the waterboy yesterday, so... "its the playoffs, you cant hold anything back."

if thats not the case bmac should definitely be there for the ALCS.

From the Score, McCarthy will not be on the roster for the first round.

I think he said El Duque and Willie Harris are in...more to come.

Why should it matter having a lefty "specialist" on the roster when Marte can't even get lefties out?

Carmin and Silvie just stated that they will give out the final roster in a few minutes, so all these questions will be answered soon.

Sounds good... should be interesting.

I don't mind having Luis and El Duque because experience usually rules in the playoffs. Also McCarthy would only be available for two or three games.

McCarthy can also come back if we win our first series since 1917. I think tis is a good move by Ozzie and KW, despite what many here have expressed.

Remember also this is not only Ozzie's move, it is KW's and Ozzie's move.

Just talked to my Dad. He said that they announced on ESPN1000 that the final roster moves were made. It's pretty much the same 25 man roster from opening day.

made it: Luis Vizcaino, El Duque, Willie Harris
not included: Ross Gload, Brandon McCarthy

I haven't seen anything official on the Sox web site... but maybe someone on WSI has heard the same report... ???

I heard this on the Score as well, don't see a thread on it here, unless I'm missing something, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it

Reasoning on no McCarthy is that he wouldn't be able to be used to at least Game 3 since he threw a lot of pitches on Sunday, but then again, if Ozzie wanted BMac, he had control on how many pitches BMac would throw :dunno:

EDIT: NM, just saw the thread
