View Full Version : Sandberg picks Sox to win ALDS, mind fails to grasp reasons

Sandberg gives the defensive edge to Boston. Huh? White Sox lead Boston in the following defensive categories:

- fielding pct (.985 vs. .982)
- errors (94 vs. 109)
- double plays (166 vs. 135)
- passed balls (9 vs. 13)
- defensive efficiency rating (.7252 vs. .6970)

The only area where Boston beats the Sox is in stolen bases and caught stealing. Seeing as how Boston has only 45 stolen bases on the whole year, I'm not too worried about that area of the game.

In other news Ronnie Woo Woo also picks the Red Sox for there superior pitching.


By this point in the season why would anyone take Sandberg seriously. He was a great 2B, but a weak baseball reporter.

Sandberg was ballsy in supporting the Sox and maintaining faith that they'd finish #1 these last couple of weeks, definitely going against the National Media grain. I give him respect for that.
