A great article, I read it in yesterday's paper and was really moved by what a kind generous couple the Snelius family are. It's a shame his beloved wife Ursula passed away way. I think she would've loved the 2005 White Sox season to no end.

Phil Arvia also did an article on another famous Sox fan. Phil caught up with the Get Up Guy on the road to Cleveland and hanging with Mark Buehrle's dad!

Thanks for posting that article. I teared up a bit when I read it. Good to see there's someone out there that gives back to the community when they won the lottery. This one's for u Alex :gulp:

What a great story and what a classy individual! Reading this brought tears to my eyes.

With fans such as Alex--and Ursula--Snelius in their corner, you just know the Sox will get it done.

I thought it was 1,000 dollars for each homerun.....Hawk said something about 20,000 dollars yesterday.

The White Sox hit 200 home runs this season. At $100 a pop that comes to $20,000 for the season.

Glad to hear someone like that won the lottery (though they payout on $64 mil proves what a bad bet it is - he received $18 mil or just over 14% of the amount taken in ($128 mil)). I know 4 people personally who one the lottery. One did good work with it and the other 3 didn't do much or pissed it away.

Anyway the Snelius family are very good decent people and their example should encourage others to give of themselves be it donating to a good cause or donating their time to help others when they are able to.

God Bless the Snelius family!!!

200 homers x $100 = $20,000

If I ever win the lottery, I'd donate 1000 for every Cubs error.

Good article by the way. Didn't know about the background til I read it. I don't know how he can run out of money, they're probably making more on the interest.

You'd be broke by mid-season!

I thought all White Sox fans did was get tatoos and Beat up umpires?

"Interesting to note, Ron, that that error was brought to you by Spongyfungy, who is donating $100 for every Cubs error! To date, he has donated over a million dollars to CubsCare."
